Free virtual console games on the 3DS?

After purposely breaking my 3ds xl yesterday out of rage, I've allocated my first 3ds and am re downloading all of my games on it. As I haven't used this 3DS since 2011, I've noticed something rather strange when I access the eshop. When I click on redownloadable content, a lot of these classic games appear for download which I am 100% certain I haven't paid for.
There's Metroid, Super mario world, Balloon light, Zelda 2: The adventure of link, Ice Climbers, Donkey Kong Jr., Mario & Yoshi, Wrecking crew, F-ZERO, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Wario Land 4, Mario Advance 3, Kirby & the AMAZIN MIRROR and loads more first party games...

Has there been a special offer which I've seemed to miss or are these all just demo versions of the real games...

Ambassador Program. You got 20 free gmaes (10 NES and 10 GBA) that weren't available to normal users yet. All the NES games have been released, but none of the GBA ones have yet. (They're on the Wii U, but not 3DS.)

Buy the 3DS before the first price drop in 2011. It's impossible to become one now.

Oh, my brother also bought his 3DS when I bought mine, but he doesn't play so I'm assuming he'd be an ambassador as well?

I lost all my Ambassador Programme titles after I lost my 3DS.

Contact Nintendo and see about getting them back.

@Jarrad: IF your brother accessed the eShop before a certain date he probably has them too.

Same I bought my 3ds on released date.
But one of my cousin lost my 3ds along side all the ambassador games

Well if you copy your memory card onto your computer before switching 3ds consoles (assuming you didn't broke that too and your computer can handle them) onto your desktop and then put it back into the new one after copying stuff
