Freaky New Leaf weather

I know the weather isn't connected to the weather irl, but sometimes it gets freakinly close.
It's been dry and sunny in my town of Remaerd all day, and irl it's been cloudy but dry.

I just went to the island and got back, and now I have a thunderstorm (the first one on my town =D), and within 2 minutes, it started to rain heavily irl too.

A coincidence, I know, but it still is a bit weird XD

I've had this happen a lot, too. It would start raining in-game, and a couple minutes later it would start raining IRL.

I used to think it was because the game knew your location (because that is registered in the settings of your 3DS) and they could track the real weather of your location or they knew where you were through the internet, but that's just paranoid!

I know, right? When I just started playing ACNL it happened quite often, so I also thought like you, that it know my location and tracked the real weather XD

The weather in my game is almost, always the same weather IRL. I was always thinking that the game was linked to a weather forecast or something, haha. I guess it's just pure luck then!

I sometimes wonder the same thing.
Maybe they put a lot of effort into getting general weather patterns right.
Or maybe it's psychic. It gets freaky sometimes alright.

Mine is also the same and is in alot of the AC games but most of all New Leaf! Its always cozy when it rains in game and in real life
