For those who own their own island, do you have a second playable character? And why?

If we had decent items, and all of the NL items and house styles, then I'd be able to theme my island and house, and create another two characters and theme their houses the way I planned right before the game came out.

Then it came out and had all of that missing so I can't do the other characters, as I can't even theme my own house.

for me? I have two accounts
It used to be my sis but.....
1. She wanted to play herself (dude, its my switch)
2. She gave in and bought a switch lite and Animal Crossing New Horizons
I still use my alt for other things like
1. Learn spare DIYS
2.Might consider getting 2 Celeste Diy's soon.

I have a second player character for my sister who’s logged on maybe twice. Her house has been decorated by me and it helps me get rid of extra DIYs and to have extra storage lol

Also helps when Redd has two genuine paintings

yeah I made mine for storage and to be able to do everything twice with the island visitors. Now I am contemplating a 3rd for storage reasons

I did this for more storage! I also plan on decorating it as a shop or something, not sure yet. It's annoying when your villagers ask you about your second character, though.

I'm thinking of making a second character for custom designs such as pathing, etc for my island! I'm struggling as all my slots are full and I wish I could have more.

Yes I do but only recently, I got one so that I could theme another house to fit in as one of the features of my island theme. That way I get my own personal house and essentially another facility in the way that I am using it. I love decorating animal crossing houses so I like having the extra character. It's only one extra, I probably wouldn't want another as that would most likely take up too much space on my island. Read some of these other responses and would agree that the extra storage that having another playable character provides is a massive bonus! There is also something nice about creating a new player that doesn't look like you, I get to design them to look like a friend instead. That and I can dress them in different styles to what I would with my character. No down sides for me (:

I have 2 extras
The second one, is pretty much like a guest character.
The third one is just storage.

Actually i have two spare players which i play with 😅.

The reasons are:

- I can have 3 house theams ( asian, country and pinkish/fantasy )
- Learn spare DIYs
-Get more Celestes DIYs and gulivars

I’ll probably just stick with one character. I had 4 in New Leaf and it was a hassle signing in/out of accounts to do different things. Plus when updating my dream address I usually had to get all their hair done, but at least we don’t have to worry about bedhead in NH.

I don’t plan on hoarding too much in NH, but we’ll see how things go with all the updates we’ll be getting.

I don't
there's not even enough furniture in the game to decorate the first house lol

My second character (Carver the Gravetender) is used for :
• Storage
• Snatching that extra Redd painting/statue
• Getting an extra DIY on the beach or from Pascal.
• an extra gift from MOM/ Nintendo

He lives in my Graveyard.( the only morbid dark place on my island )
He Tends the graves.

I have five. Me, three of my OCs (originally I just wanted two but I had too many decoration ideas for the third) and one whose house I'll turn into a tourist information/community center kind of thing.

I might make one more so that I can put my DIYs inside- I have so many laying by my entrance that it's brought me down from five to four stars! I'm kind of tempted to leave it as a tent because I like the aesthetic, but then I won't have as much room... the struggle is real lol
