For those who own their own island, do you have a second playable character? And why?

Yep! I have 2 other players on my island aside from my main. I use it for storage as well as to get extra DIYs and buy more Redd art and Saharah items. Also it’s nice to have other places to decorate. My second character’s home I’m turning into a hotel, the third one I have yet to give a house upgrade yet because I’m still not sure how I’m going to decorate it.

I have a second character to occasionally farm items but also for the tent they have since I have it placed in my campsite for decoration.

I have 3 other houses on my island, and I initially made the 1st one because of storage needs, but then the rest happened because I find decorating indoors to be really fun.

wellllll i have my own island now but during the first month i shared an island with my gf but she got her own switch. so i kept her other character but turned her into a witch character that i also use for storage lol

now im thinking for lore purposes i wanna make a mermaid character to display the mermaid and shell set bc theyre my fave and dont fit my house theme

I did it for the extra storage and the extra items from NPCs like Redd.

The second player house is now a space center which I'm pretty sure wasn't in the Narnia books but I am not going to let that stop me

I have 5 playable villagers. The main reason is due to my island’s theme. But I rotate through playing them (1 per day). I must say while it’s a lot of work it’s fun to decorate each house in a different way to match each character.

I don't have any additional playable characters. As nice as the extra storage space would be, creating an extra character and getting their house upgraded to maximum storage is just effort I don't really want to put in, lol

I have 4 houses because I can't get enough of just having my own house and I normally use these rooms to put areas that don't go well when placed outside, plus we got to maximize those awesome wall items, wallpapers and flooring.

I made a second character in hopes it was like new leaf where you can have more custom design slots and deleted them immediately after noticing it's shared Might remake them again just to have a themed house like a spooky mansion

i have an extra PC to represent my cat. he owns the fake art museum and his own cat themed cafe (in the museum tho i wanna do an outdoor seating area soon)

I have five total characters. I ALWAYS have extra characters (I'm an only child, my parents have zero interest in playing, so I've only ever had my own islands/towns). Gives me extra characters to dress and extra houses to decorate and more to do. Also, in this game, that extra storage is so important for me since I'm a packrat I keep extra event item in their storage that I want to hang on to for trading. But, mainly I want the extra houses to decorate and characters. I have a tradition now of always having a witch character and a haunted house ☺

Yah, it's a bummer no extra design slots... but a spooky mansion is totally worth it IMO

I'm using the house for my island-theme purposes, and I like to collect more prizes from Gulliver and Redd I may create a third and fourth for more Houses As Buildings Shenanigans, depends on how my island decorating goes...

Yup! Second playable character is my boyfriend's I figured it would be nice to represent him in-game since we're living far apart at the moment!

Since my island is loosely inspired by Dragon Ball, my second playable character’s house functions as a dojo in the mountains.

I had a second character in NL for more pattern storage but I saw that it doesn't work like that in NH. No biggie tho. I might make another for storage in general and since I want to go for a witchy island, maybe ill have another character as a witch that lives on the island. Much to think about haha

I made one so I can fill up my residential area and make it look more lively. I will turn it into a cafe and bookshop!

I have several reasons:

• So I can buy two paintings on weeks when Gulliver has more than one real painting.
• So I can create a school and still keep my main character's house looking like a normal house.
• For 1600 more storage spaces
• So I can store duplicate DIYs on my second character's floor instead of lowering my island rating by putting them outside.

I don't, but I've been thinking about it. Think my rep needs a girlfriend. Or at least that's how I'm justifying all the cute clothes I'm hoarding that my island rep won't ever wear.
