I recently bought a second copy of the game as a birthday treat to myself to use on my unused OG Switch but so far haven't unpacked it because I really don't know what to do at this point and have some questions:

1. Did you set up a separate account for your physical game copy on the other Switch? The reason I'm asking is because I don't know if I can afford a 2nd subscription but would like to use the second copy to do more cycling and things along those lines and transferring things easily between the two Switches but I'm worried that IF and WHEN Nintendo introduce cloud saves, it would somehow mess up the saves if I have duplicate copies of the game running on the same account.

2. Is your 2nd Island in the other hemisphere? I thought about this long and hard and while it's appealing, I feel it might take away from experiencing everything gradually.

3. When did you start your 2nd Island? Right now, my copy is still sealed because I don't feel mentally prepared to start a new Island as my first one is nowhere near where I'd like it to be.

4. Do you experience burnout/fatigue from running 2 Islands? Do you treat them both the same or are you more focused on one or the other?

5. Do you have a specific theme for your second Island (for example, only a certain kind of villager species, etc.) to keep things interesting?

1) No - I use the same account (and fc) for both. However, it doesn't let me play both online at the same time because of that, so there's that. I can trade between them on local though, so it's not a massive deal, but if one has its' gates open, I can't play on the other.
2) No, my second one is tt-friendly though. I use it to avoid tt-ing in my main.
3) I started my second a few days after release, when I was feeling impatient at the slow pace the game starts with.
4) No because the second one is for trades/cataloging/ obtaining villagers so it's basically an organized junkyard. If I were actually running two, I don't think I'd have the energy to make them both look as nice as my main.
5) Eventually I may theme it urban (my main is forest) but I don't feel like maintaining two nice islands rn.

1. Yes, I have two separate accounts for both since I have digital copies of the game.

2. Yes, I have each island set in a different hemisphere.

3. I started it about a week after release day. I had TT'd a lot on my first island and was getting bored.

4. I find I tend to focus on one island for a week or so and then shift to the other. I'm starting to get bored of ACNH in general and have had days where I don't play at all. I ignored island 1 for awhile as I didn't have the shrubs I needed to really work on it.

5. Both islands have a theme. Island 1 is supposed to be French chateau themed with French formal gardens, etc. Island 2 has more of a bamboo/rural village theme because most of the items I have to work with are the bamboo diys. For Island 1 I have a couple of villagers I specifically chose to fit the theme and the rest I've been giving clothing that fits the theme. For island 2 the villagers I have to fit the theme doesn't matter as much to me.
