Food You've Tried Because of a TV Show/Cartoon/Video Game

Konpeito. Also known as starbits in Mario Galaxy, and the gratitude crystals in Skyward Sword.

Immediately became my favorite candy. Konpeito is literally unflavored sugar crystals. I love them so much.

I've always wanted to try different foods that were in Studio Ghibli films

The bacon looks good but I've never really liked it ;u;

I went through a phase of eating pickle sandwiches a lot after I read The Millennium Trilogy. I'm not sure they eat it in the movies, but that's all anyone eats practically in the books.

I had to look up what that was...and it's so cute! But basically, wiki version of how it's made: take sugar, cover it with sugar syrup, rotate, add more sugar syrup, rotate, add more sugar syrup, rotate, add more sugar syrup...keep doing this for 7-13 days.

lol, that sounds awesomely sugary XD

The only thing I can remember is a candy and it was a jawbreaker because of Ed Edd and Eddy :)

My hubby and I have gotten into mead, thanks to our interest in Skyrim, amongst other inspirations. You can find it listed under honey wine as well, and it'll be in the dessert wines section. Quite sweet, good chilled or warmed. Spiced mead in particular is lovely warmed on a cold winter day.

Thanks to the fabulous food descriptions of Brian Jacques, I've tried strawberry cordial and different flavors of scones. Both are fantastic, great desserts.

I've been seeing people here mention the sea salt ice cream from Kingdom Hearts. I've been itching to try that myself actually. I heard it's really good.

Not me personally, but - I'd had ramen in my house long before Naruto became A Thing, but after my friends started reading it they convinced me to make it for them (because apparently they couldn't do it themselves? lmao, looking back on it, that raises a lot of questions) so I invited everyone over for the weekend and made a huuuge pot of it. W
e were maybe thirteen years old then? Long time ago. Fond memories though.

I think I ended up trying fried calamari because I saw it mentioned in something but I can't for the life of me remember what it was. Same thing with lo mein! So weird that I can't remember what specifically prompted it...

I've always wanted to try mellorine though, thanks to One Piece.

mochi and yakisoba because of various anime. red mean mochi is to die for....

and i really want to try croquettes and yakitori!

Bacon pancakes from Adventure time
Ramen because of anime
Krispy kremes because of the simpsons xD

Corndogs because of tons of things. I swear theyre on like every tv show. Oh wait I think I saw it off big time rush...

The first time I tried pizza, it was because of the Ninja Turtles (1984 OG cartoon). Other things I tried because of the media is Pocky, coffee and sandwiches, and I'm kinda obsessed with trying Billy's Personal Pan Pizzas that come in, like, 11 flavors. Both the pan pizzas, and the coffee and sandwiches are from Stieg Larrson's Millenium Trilogy.

BILLY'S PAN PIZZAS ARE REAL?!?!?!?! OMG I MUST TRY THEM. Srsly, I love Lisbeth. And that series. So much.

Other foods I've wanted to try or tried from books or tv...
Dango, seeing it in anime all the time made me want to try it. It's really good!
Bento, also from anime.
Those rolled up crepes filled with ice cream, anime again.
OKAY SO I REALLY WANT TO MAKE COOKIE CATS from Steven Universe; I found a cookie cutter and a recipe!
Basically I want to try every dessert I've ever seen in anime because all of my teeth are sweet teeth and I'm hopelessly addicted ^_^

I've probably tried random stuff from when I used to read manga all the time. Like someone else mentioned I ate a lot of Pocky, and I tried miso soup once and hate it.

Croquettes because of anime, they are absolutely delicious<3 I also tried Mochi with Red Bean paste, eh wasn't too impressed lol xD

okonomiyaki...ever since I saw it in some random anime, where it was made right in front of you on a flat grill; I've had some pretty good okonomiyaki but never had it made right in front of my eyes

Steven Universe - Cookie Cat
even though it's just a ice cream sandwich in a different shape

In my Japan Crate I got some Konpeito which are little baby candy coated rock candies. So basically big sugar crystals. If you've seen Spirited Away you'd know them as the candy the soot sprites love! They are pretty tasty and apparently people use them to sweeten tea and stuff too.

Mine was Yakisoba, I saw it so many animes and Mugi in Kon was going nuts for it and I found a place that did it and OMG I love it so much now
