So I'd just finished getting all of my dreamies, and after that I'd finished trading for the last time for everything I'd needed to complete my town...

I was finally going to be able to actually work on my town...

Everything changed when the fire nation attacked.

Just kidding. It was a lot worse than that.

Rocket'a moving in. He's my tenth... Last time I got a random move in, I had to sacrifice one of my dreamies to kick Phoebe out because she was the tenth.

Please can someone tell me if it's actually possible to kick out the tenth villager? How do I kick them out without sacrificing one of my beloved?

Rocket the ugly gorilla? I'm sorry :c

People say it's possible to get the tenth out, but I've never been able to after playing NL for over a year. But it's worth a shot.. Good luck!

Omg that was funny, the fire nation lol No it's not possible, I'm really sorry :c You'd have to kick someone out which sucks

I've heard it's possible to get the 10th villager to move out but I've never seen this confirmed anywhere.

People have said that another villager only has to ask to move out before the 10 villager will ask to leave, so you can say no to the other villager and then your 10th will be able to move. Again, I've never actually seen this confirmed! :(

I'm gonna try the ignoring method without TTing. ugh. i just can't believe my luck rn. I hope rocket doesnt change any of my other villagers' outfits. THAT would be the last straw.

I think it's possible IIRC. Good luck though.

if that last part was true, phoebe would have been gone long before she actually decided to leave x_x

You can get them to move it just takes a while. Nothing is impossible when it comes to moving. It just takes time. You might be stuck with them for a while, but you can get rid of them.

thanks for the words. i was -not- going to sacrifice any of my villagers for stupid Rocket. i love them too much. though im curious, do you have experience with moving the tenth out before without sacrificing any villagers beforehand? or seen this happening anywhere?

Yes it's possible. It's happened to me. Chow just randomly went up to me and said he'll be moving out but quickly reconsidered.
It takes patience and they'll move out eventually just keep rejecting everyone else who tries to move out and you'll get there. :)

^Pretty much this. It wouldn't make sense for Nintendo to program it that way. It might take several months, it might take a few weeks. But eventually after some time your 10th will leave. It's different for everyone. And even if they tell you they're moving and then quickly decide not to you can just reset and try again until they agree to leave. You lose your progress, but if you make a move ping the first thing you do in your day it's not so bad.

COOL I just assumed it couldn't be done cause all this time I never got it to work :) definitely gonna try it now

oh my gosh thank you so much for letting me know that it's possible. i was starting to debate which villager i was going to be the least upset to let go of. thanks so much! did you tt at all? o:

yeah, when phoebe was moving out, i had to soft reset like 6 times before she decided to give up on improving whatever friendship she thought existed between us. i always look for a mover or the ping before i work on anything else just so i dont lose progress incase i have to soft reset.

we both learned something new today. ; v ;

Noooo, I love Rocket! She's the best! If I had room in my town I'd totally adopt her from you, when you get her out.

It's actually relatively easy to get the 10th Villager to move out. You need to be using Bam's method, which you can find here: http://bamdom.tumblr.com/post/57682343411/alternatively-titled-how-to-get-your-dream ...

Basically, this is what you do:

Time travel day by day. Choose one villager to talk to a LOT - as soon as you start your game, talk to them until they get sick of you. If they don't mention that someone is going to move, you're safe to time travel to the next day. Keep doing this until someone tells you that a villager is thinking of moving out. If the villager who wants to move is one you want to KEEP (which is likely, because you just want to get rid of Rocket), then go up to that villager, wait for them to do the "!!!" thing and tell you they want to move. Make them stay.

Sometimes they won't run up to you with the "!!!" immediately. Time travel by hour and run past them until they do.

I've used this method successfully LOADS of times.

Please please please please please read the full guide before you do this! But I've used it and it definitely works. You should be fine!

Nope. Just playing like usual when he came up to me. Although like what you previous users said, if the villager quickly reconsiders moving, quit w/o saving and tt to their moving date/until they move out or if you don't tt just avoid them like the plague.

actually, i've tried this tactic before, and i used to cycle a lot. unlike what the person says, the two forward two back is a good tactic if you understand why and how it works. the tactic you suggested is far too time consuming, and it doesnt really work if the person that wants to move is the one that you talk to a lot. AND it's happened to me before that the villager you talk to a lot doesnt say anything but i have had pingers on that day but hey, if this strategy works for you, then go right ahead and do it, but it really isnt the best strategy in the world compared to others. sorry for the ramble, and also sorry if i came off rude or pretentious at all, o'm just stating from experience what i know and what has happened with me. thank you for trying to help though, i very much appreciate it!!! and hey, i'll message you if she does decide to ping!

sweet, ok. i very recently stopped tting and decided to play normally. thanks again!!
by the way, I love your icon!

I know how you feel. I finally won a dreamie in a contest of having my 10th spot open for TWO WEEKS and the day I was supposed to pick my dreamie up...BAM, random move in that was one of my friends voids. I was so mad I can't even tell you.

Sorry about that :c
I had the same problem with Flora that moved in right onto my paths and destroyed three bushes too...
Took me a really long time to get her out and I tried the 6 days forward and 6 days back method. It works, but it was always a different villager that requested to move instead of her.
And now I have Midge on my second town that moved onto my path from another void //cries//

But you should use the 6 days forward and backward method.
On the day that you told a villager to not move, TT 6 days forward, save and quit, and then go back 6 days in one go.
Then walk around town and find the villager that will tell you he/she is going to move.
If it is the correct villager, tell them okay, and kick them out. If it's the wrong villager, tell them no, and repeat this.
This may not work if there is an upcoming event by the way.

Best of luck to move her out!

ugh man it really blows though when it happens three times in the lapse of two months. it was beau, then phoebe, and now rocket. i think i was able to get beau out without sacrificing anyone though (but i had, legit, like a one or two month hiatus and as soon as i came back, he decided to leave, no sacrifices or anything. almost cried of joy, tbh.) i ended up needing to get rid of henry (you will be missed) to get phoebe out to make room for gladys, and now rocket's pulling this bull when i needed it the least. i almost wanted to go and yell at the person i got it from (since it was from a trade from today) but that wouldnt help get her to leave my town and id only make the person upset.

i dont think i'll be tting at all for this one. i'm going to try the ignoring tactic without tting (bc i heard that time traveling ends up making the strategy not work) and see what happens from there.
