Flowers/Hybrids

ii have plenty of flowers, they are pink, im kinda doing this whole pink only flowers thing, bht anywho can someone come over and show me how to place all the flowers in the right formation so ii can learn how to grow them, whether you think its on the beach or in a nice green grass patch.. ii have plenty of fertilizer and jacob ladders (ii think? ii may have sold them, darn..) bht ii have lots of fertilizer!! so someone whos like a pro @ growing hybrids, can you teach me bc ii need lots of pink flowers!! lol

Best thing to do is just to place them linked diagonally, you want them to have a lot of space to put potential new flowers. I would just avoid putting a long row, they are harder to water that way as well. I place mine like this, for no reason in particular...

Then when I add fertilizer I just bury it in the center. (so that there is a flower to the right, left, top, and bottom of the fertilizer)

what happens when you start getting more flowers? do you leave them there? do you add more fertilizer?

how often do you plant the fertilizer? 1x or every other day? every 3-4days?

I really have no reason for having 6 flowers, the more the merrier if your watering them all! Just keep a diagonal design layout. Also, I only plant 1 fertilizer a day. I don't know if there is a maximum number of flowers that can grow in a day but if there is I don't want to waste any fertilizer. You can definitely try 2 though if you wanted! I wouldn't go for more than 2 though! I bury my fertilizer daily, as it just helps for the one time, It doesn't carry over to multiple days.

I inspect the flower patch every day and then remove the new growth, keeping the same design layout as it was before they grew. I take the new ones away and store them or decorate with them. Another option is to pick them up and extend the layout making it a bigger patch to breed with.

Not my pic, but should be something like this. With fertilizer in the middle for the hybrids you are prioritizing.

Like Tim says, if a new hybrid blooms I take them away from the breeding area & put it where I wanted them in the first place. It keeps the area cleaner and there's really no need to have more than 6. The more space you have, the more chances you'd get hybrids.

Btw, when I visited your town, I didn't see your breeding area.

@underneath the stars ahahah omg ii know, ii have an area ii want to grow them in, it was the huge empty part by the pond it recently had the pink flowers ii got for free from someone and ii had nowhere else to put them so that spot held them for me bht now that it is clear iam thinking of growing the hybrids there, either that or on the beach bht ii might do different types in each spot to keep seperated, bc there are 5 different types of pinks they have!! when ii get it going you can come over and see lol!! and thank you also for that pic

Np! Are you mostly growing pink hybrids? The carnations in your town looks nice, really goes with the pinkish theme! I also remember seeing bushes alternatively. I think it looks nice together. What type are those?

@underneath the stars awe thanks so much!! and yes im using pink and white azaleas, ii had hollys around my house bc ii liked the dark leaf green color, bht then ii realised ii might as well stick with the pinky that ii want so ii dug them up and switched them out.. and yes im only using pink flowers, ii originally had red and white roses wrapped around my ponds/river, bht decided to go pink so ii got rid of them and have been on a hunt for the pink lol

Jacob's ladders, some say help some say it's not proven to have an affect. But I mean, if there's enough space why not?

Tbh choosing bushes is a dilemma most of the time haha it's not like flowers that are easily changeable to see what works.

lol exactly!!! thats why ii hoard all the bushes though to decide if ii want to change them, and if ii do well then ii have 20 on deck to do it hahaha, just like my fountain, you saw the way it had all those bushes around it right? well.. im thinking of getting rid of it and so there goes about 20 something pink & blue hydras xDDD oh well
