Flowers and hoarder mentality

It has been raining for days and my flowers are out of control lol I know I won't need that many for my town anyways but it's so hard to let them go tbh AHAHAHAHA I feel like it'll be a waste to throw them and I MIGHT end up using all of it but I don't know yet as my town is a huge WIP atm... Anyone has the same problem of just letting your flowers multiply and multiply until you're bombarded with a lot of flowers you probably wouldn't use but doesn't throw it out anyways? This is the same case for my dupe diys lol

To be fair I might just do a giveaway for these flowers but right now it'll be in my island, continuing to spread until no land is left for it to reproduce lol...

i had the same problem! ended up throwing away any ones i for sure knew i wouldn't use and moved the rest to the beach so they wouldn't multiply

I have so many hybrids on my beach that manila clams hardly spawn anymore lol

it took me like almost 2 weeks to clean my flowers and to decide what to keep and throw, when i finished arranging them i terra formed stone paths around them to make them stop spreading around.
u should decide whats easy to get (like basic color ones - since leif update its no problem to get most of the flowers now)
unless it fits ur aesthetic ofc i like to keep most of the white and pink ones mostly.
once u give them a place to stop growing u will feel a control over the situation.

I have mostly kept a few spares of each breed and more of the harder to achieve hybrids. My island's native flower is the mum and I have hundreds of greens at this point. Plus now that hybrid islands don't exist anymore it's extra important to me to make sure I have a spare supply.

Before I got to that point, though, I accidentally got rid of too many flowers after my island got overrun. I needed pansies for a design idea and had none, and I didn't want to buy flowers from people so I had to wait for them to be available to buy. It took... way longer than it should have.

omg meeee!! there are so many flowers that i can't bear to throw away because my towns still wip and idk what i want my final look to be..

its like, 1) i dont time travel so i feel like if i throw away flowers ive wasted my time
2) its extra hard since we can only access 3 types of flowers now in NH and i don't wanna be missing a flower in the future and have to ask to visit peoples towns all over again
and 3) i also really struggled with growing hybrids back in new leaf so now i'm a hoarder in new horizons (i have a whole beach of pink hybrids i'm not even planning for a pink theme?)

half of my beaches (the other half being fully terraformed already) and almost the entire top left corner of my island are full of hybrids that have been growing since launch. Initially the plan was to sell them but hybrid growing seems fairly easy in this game apart from select flowers so I'm almost honestly at the point of just selling them all to the nooks except for like 2 pairs of each colour so I can always grow them again.

It still feels like a waste, and I know I could do a giveaway but I feel like I see a flower giveaway thread every time I go into Nooks cranny, and its a lot of time and effort when i could just sell them in game.

Yeh the May rain is kind of annoying, my flowers are spawning out of control. I did a huge giveaway a few days back when I needed to get rid of some to clear space for my orchard area. I also made a translucent space in my custom designs which I’ve put down in places I definitely don’t want flowers to grow.

Relatable! I've so many black and pink roses, and blue and purple hyacinths, that I've no idea what I'm going to do with.

I know, right? I have several areas in my island that I haven't started working on yet because I still don't know what to put there or I'm waiting for new buildings, and I'm using those areas to farm hybrids, and I have no idea what to do with them because I don't know where to plant them as I don't have a clear idea what to do with those areas yet lol.

Well, for the normal flowers I could easily just order that kept multiplying out of control, I sold most of them at Nook's Cranny.
I left a good section of the top of my Island for my native flowers though as well as some other normal ones in case I need them to craft wrethes/floral crown's, etc. but I made sure to put some stone bathing around them so they don't keep multiplying.

I'm still working on my hybrids though. I want to spread them more around my Island eventually

I kind of miss not being able to use my shovel to kill the flowers in this game. They need a new tool to destroy flowers only. Like clippers or something.

I had the same problem whenever it rains for a few days in the row. The flowers keep spawning and overflowing the empty areas, that I either sell or throw them away, I wish they controlled flower growth, but I might as well use an invisible design to block it..

Ugh, yes. As I work on my island, it feels like I pause every few seconds. to complain to my partner, “They need to make some kind of $@!!?#! flower vacuum!” and I’m pretty sure they’re sick of hearing it.

I was so overrun with flowers on my island that I created 3x3 blocks fenced in with stone paths and fencing to stop them from breeding. But i had so many leftover hybrids, especially when trying to get gold roses that I had several giveaways here just to get rid of them.

Then I was overrun AGAIN and ended up creating a wildflower field between my cliffs and the beach and then started boxing in my flowers with transparent patterns on the ground

I know the struggle. I used up more than half of my island to breed hybrids in the first couple weeks and I couldn't take it anymore. Once I started terraforming I realised that it was huge mistake to hoard and breed so many. I sold about 500 hybrids in bundles for cheap put the rest on the beach. I still have about 200-300 I'll probably try to sell once my island is completed.

I might have bought a bunch of black hybrids to get a head start on Halloween decorating, and I might have severely underestimated the rate of growth. It's only been a month and I have more than enough flowers.

What I really want is a special storage for shrubs and flowers, like a greenhouse.

It's just so hard to throw away these hybrids that you spent time watering (Plus it takes 80 years to get rid of them) . I have absolutely no space for extra flowers, and there are only 4 open spots on my beaches . I need those for manila clam and communicator parts.

I would give them away or sell them, but I just feel like everyone is dealing with this same issue, there's almost no point. We'll just have to work up the courage and energy to trash them.
