How do you decorate with flowers in your town? Do you only use certain types or certain colors? Or do you use all flowers, all colors, without sticking to a certain theme? For my island, I'm only using black, purple, orange, and the green mums. I'm also only using certain flower types in an attempt to tie my island together more. I was curious how others went about this!
For the most part I am just sticking to certain colors. I got rid of almost all my flowers when I re did my island. So, I have flower breeding as my future now.
White- tulips, mums and lily of the valley
Yellow- Tulips, Hyacinths, mums
Orange- Tulips, Hyacinths, Cosmos, windflower, rose
Black- tulips, cosmos
Purple- tulips, hyacinths, mums, pansy
edit almost forgot i have a tiny area on my beach that has white roses green mums and pink mums for a themed photo shoot with the moving painting
It took me a couple tries until I decided what I wanted. My native flower is lilies and I was going to use black lilies but I ended up not liking how they looked.
So after I designed my flag:
I settled on the color story of orange (lilies), purple and green (mums). I use the lily of the valley and white hyacinths as accents.
My island is still wip, so most of my flowers I have no clue how I’ll use them.
For my creepy area, which is based on an area in Dragon Age Inquisition, I used black lilies and black cosmos to show how some of the mirrors were corrupted. I also have some yellow and orange lilies, full grown weeds because some of the screenshots that I based the area on had yellow, orange flowers and some white and the lilies looked similar to them. I picked white lilies not because there were some white flowers in the screenshot but also because in some cultures white represents death (also the reason i picked the white paper kite butterfly)
Another area, I have some black roses to represent the blight in dragon age (was planning to make the countryside fully devastated by it, but I modified it a little). Once I figure out where to put all of the other flowers that are in the area since I moved them because of my poster event, i am considering using yellow (maybe some other colors) mums, lilies, roses since i modified my are to resemble the windmill scene from Cervantes Don Quixote and according to the sites i found through google, spain has a breed (or whatever you call them) of those flowers.

For one of my alt’s house, I used flowers that are Japanese or Asian (unless the websites were wrong): yellow hyacinths by the miniature countryside, pink and red hyacinths in the fenced area, and white mums (since mums represent lamentation according to one site i looked and since I based her exterior on Wano in One Piece and put seven zen gravestones to represent the ones on the mountain in the anime/manga, i thought it would be kinda fitting.
Mine are all mixed.... I'm in the slow process of digging them up and choosing the colors I want for organized rows, but I kind of like the wild and overgrown look, too. My entrance has a lot of orange and black now.
I used to hoard them all, but now I throw hybrids away... even the ones I really like because I just have way too many.
The only flower I don't have much of are pansies. Half my island is hyacinths.
My island is a chaotic mixture of all the colors and flower types. I have a rose garden area by my resident reps house, but it’s still not organized in any way.
I'm using mostly yellow and white flowers because my island is based off my cockatiel! I went nuts with hybrid flower breeding before this, ended up giving most of them away but starting to regret having such few colours/flower types hahah
I want to stick to only certain colors and types, but I feel the need to have all of them as I spend way too much time breeding for them. I've discipline myself to having one of each, in a strip of land across of my orchard and next to the small farm area. Now I'm in the process of what I want to stick to. I do want monotone colors but also red/orange/yellow flowers, green mums and lily of the valleys.
i’ve kind of gone back and forth with my flower theme. i’ve gone from wanting to use pink, purple and orange tulips to only wanting to use pink hybrids. now, i think i’ve decided on using a mixture of all hybrids; i don’t have the specifics figured out, yet, but whenever i picture my idea in action, there’s always blue hyacinths and orange + pink hybrids involved so i know that i’ll likely be using those. . but tldr; i currently plan on using flowers of different breeds and colours except for any black or darker ones as i don’t think they’d match my desired theme too well aha c’:
I mainly stick to white flowers (roses, mums, cosmos, hyacinths), with the occasional gold rose and pink hyacinth scattered about c: the other flower colors are just a tad bit too bright for my theme
Hey y'all! Hybrids have overrun my island, but before I trash, sell, or give them away, I need to know what to do with them first! I could really use some inspiration. Idk what would look best... I want to make a rainbow with the flowers but idk if I should go by type, or use all of them, or...
Currently my island is overrun and a giant mess of flowers. One downside of using dirt paths! Anyway, I've started trying to put them in fenced areas slowly, bit by bit. Right now I have some beds near my airport surrounded by water, and I have some little spots by Nook's and the museum. To the left of the shop I have pansies in red, yellow, and orange, to the right of the museum I have them in white, blue, and people, and the space between the two buildings are windflowers that sort of fade between the two color schemes (basically a rainbow). I'm not sure where I want the rest of my flowers, I need to figure all that out before tossing everything into the bin.
I have every flower, and for the most part I just have certain colors spread around. Like I have my pink, white, and yellow flowers in the same places for the most part, black and purple together, etc. I keep all the reds (and orange windflowers) up on a hill.
I have flowers everywhere! Now that I have all the possibilities (still only 1 blue rose), I need to think about how to make areas look nice with flowers. More isn’t always better.
