Flower clock = perfect town?

All I remember strongly is that I read a thread once that said as soon as you have the "Best Town Ever!" DO NOT CHANGE A THING. No new PWP's, no chopping, planting, or anything. Probably more of a PWP thing, in my case. I decided to make a new project and it turned out that that was what (I think) had to have triggered the "living on a landfill" whining.

So, I got it again, and THEN DID NOT DO A THING except weed.

Don't let villagers move out. When villagers move out, another will move in, possibly destroying some flowers or trees, thus affecting your perfect town score.

Completely untrue.

I've built like 15 extra PWPs and still had a perfect town. Living in a landfill means you've tossed (or buried) items on the ground. Everything counts except for buried fossils + gyroids + pitfalls, shells and fruit.

EDIT; I also was hybriding, TTing quickly and cycling out 16 villagers to get Skye + my dreamies all while maintaining perfect status. :s It's really not that hard.

Good to know! To my knowledge I didn't have anything on the ground, I watered my flowers every single day...and the only thing that I can recall is that I began a new PWP. Then I lost the status.

A thread somewhere said to not change a thing. :( I wonder if I had accidentally dropped something or did not fish a tire out of the pond or something. I must have had something on the ground. Bee hives I forgot? I have too many darned trees.....

Hmmm... Anyway, I finally got my golden watering can.

Thank you for debunking this. I have a couple more towns and the more info I can get the better. :)

aw crud. I have royal crowns buried in my beach (dont ask lol), as well as shells on every square on one of my beaches, to per-sway a friend of mine from constantly diggin 1mil holes in my beach the second i stop following him around like a toddler being all hawk-eye'd on by their mother lol

I heard seashells dont count when they're on the beach, no clue if it counts if /you/ put them there, as opposed to them spawning on the beach themselves...

When does the 15-day perfect town cycle get broken? I'm in 3 days now but I left a furniture piece on the floor when I logged off an hour ago. I picked it up just now and talked to Isabelle, who still gave me the perfect speech, but am I back to day 1 now of the cycle? Or do I need to pass 6AM with trash on the floor in order to break the cycle?

Yeah, as long as you don't leave too much stuff on the ground overnight, you're fine.

Oh I totally forgot about seashells! They should be fine. I have seashell patterns on my beach and I just checked my status with Isabelle, still perfect.

I lost my perfect status today.... Last night I cut down 9 trees and replaced them with Perfect apple trees. Today Isabelle is asking for more projects. :(

Guess I'll go build the Flower Clock, it raises villager's affection a lot.

I still haven't got to perfect and it's really annoying me now. I demolished the trash bin but it made no difference so I've built it again. I've planted more trees where I could, but she's still saying it's underdeveloped and they want more pwps! I can only build 2 more before I'm at the limit!

I do have a space that could fit at least 5 more trees in but it's my reset house space so I don't want to put any there, I'm putting flowers instead as I remember a certain amount = 1 tree on the wii, but there's still been no change =/

I have some furni by the shop but when I picked it up there was still no change and there's nothing else dropped except fruit, and nothing buried!

I am only at 9 villagers, but even when I had 10 they were still telling me the same.

I finally got it! What I needed was LESS trees!
I cut down at least 20 - I was on 188 (luckily I had silver axes so have pretty stumps now) and got it to the "not passing but not failing either" grade, then I chopped down 2 bamboos and it became perfect! :D (I also dug up some bushes - not sure if they counted the way trees do though).
