Yeah, what titles says. Some of you might remember my old thread where I asked for tips and some of you shared tips and experiences.

So I've tried most if not almost all tips that came in, feel free to add if you think I forgot something;

- Several pieces of trash in an open area (as much open as can get... not gonna chop down all trees for now sorry).
- Checking different times of the day
- Tried the bamboo island trick (chopped down and dug up everything)
- Also tried different spots for the trash, didn't help

So yeah, do they exist or is my RNG just the ****tiest ever....? I've always waited for literally weeks for them to show up, being careful and swinging my net just in case. Nope.

So yeah any help or further tips are really appreciated <3

For my concerns I didn't get any by placing trashes neither, BUT I just got one fly recently on a rotten turnip, ants appear more often but you can have flies too with this method !

Oof. I think you tried every advice I've seen given. The only thing left I think to try to get spawns to reset when you leave and enter the building. Like put the trash near a building but out of sight of the camera when you exit the building.

They're really really really tiny and a few times I would look at a can (trash item) intensely and be sure I didn't see anything on it. So I'd run past it thinking it was safe and *buzz* one would fly away. The way I caught mine I literally just hit the can with my net because I was tired of being so blind and not seeing it when it was there. My advice (not sure if you've heard this before) is to always just slow down when you're near the trash. Then just really look and see if you're just missing it. Maybe do like me and not trust your eyes and whack it with your net anyway XD

Yeah I did try turnips earlier as well for a long time but I just kept getting ants I was basically convinced it didn't work. But I'll try again on Sunday and buy some and wait til they rot! Ty!

Hmmm.. I'll see if i have such building available, might be a bit trouble with the camera stuff, but I'll try. Ty!

I was told that ants need space to spawn so if you place flowers on both of the rotten turnips, you should get less ants

I put a rotten turnip on a stone path and it gave me flies!

I have never gotten an ant, maybe I should place the rotten turnip on grass for that?

Yeah I either try slow down or just swing my net cause yep they're tiny, though easy to catch in NL ironically... ty!

Hmm, good point, I've a lot of stone paths. So I'll try! ty

For more info my rotten turnip was on the beach with nothing near it, I got ants (often) and fly (once).

put it on grass and make sure there is a few empty spaces to the side of it, the ants make a trail that spans a few spots
worked like a charm! I put it down and maybe 2 mins later had ants lol thank you!
I think I had tried this before but I didn't give them much space, now I did ^-^

I put a can and a tire on the beach. I eventually found a fly and caught it. They are extremely rare. So rare that I caught 3 scorpions in a row one night, but it took me about a month to find a fly. 😩

Ikr, I always get so many scorpions whenever they are actually out but flies ****ing nope :( I'll try beach also, ty!

I've seen flies twice on rotting turnips and once on a can. I wonder whether you could take some trash with you to a mystery island and attempt to farm them by cutting all the trees down, picking the flowers, etc.

I haven't seen any scorpions lately. I think my island is busted. Good luck finding a fly, though. Try not to run to the beach if you put trash somewhere over there. And be sure that villagers aren't in that area, because I guess they can scare bugs. One of them had a bug fly away when I saw it and waited for them to move away from the bug they were going to catch.

I put a trash item on the beach, and then I think it takes 3 days (not sure where I heard that and could be wrong) but after that I had flies. Maybe it has to be on the beach. (Sorry if someone already gave this advice, writing hastily before work.

I wish I didn’t have any scorpions! I saw one last night and ran right the other direction. Now that I have got one for the museum and gotten a scorpion island just for the fun/horror, I feel no desire to see them! There are more valuable fish and bugs, in the event that I happen to need the money. I have three in case I ever want a model (shudder).

Good luck on the fly hunt and trying to send you my scorpion having luck!

Thank you both, I'll try beach also.. Man why did they **** up spawn rates so much here lol. Hopefully it will be easier by halloween if they decide to add candy.

I actually took those three scorpions I caught one night and decided to keep them for when Flick would come to the island. I have a model of it outside somewhere. Early on after having the model, I had placed it outside and freaked out later on thinking it was alive. xD
