Fireworks festival poll: New Leaf vs New Horizons

Which do you prefer?

I am pretty sure I just spent a good half hour staring at the fireworks and taking pictures. Plus I got a bulb bopper which was one of my favorite headpieces to wear in new leaf so I’m very happy.

I don’t remember what it was like in New Leaf, though I remember I didn’t care for the raffle prizes. I honestly didn’t care for this event in NH either. I mean the fireworks were nice to watch one round but after I saw everything once, I was ready to continue whatever I’m doing around the island.. I like events with furniture and recipes; I never was one for clothing and head accessories or disposable items.

I prefer new horizons, I just thought the fireworks looked really pretty. I took a bunch of photos, saved my favorites and ran around with a balloon to see if I would trip and lose one of them.

I prefer NH. It was really pretty and felt really festive. And like everyone else, I took a lot of pictures while blowing bubbles, lighting fireworks, and running around with a balloon with boppers on my head. I even used my town flag as firework and surprisingly came out great.

I felt bad for Phoebe though. She's stuck inside crafting and never got to see the fireworks.

I think this question is kind of redundant because the fireworks festival are a purely visual thing. You're asking if an event depending entirely on how good the graphics are used to be better in it's previous iteration on a pixelated handheld, or looks better now in the game released seven years later on the 720p-handheld, 1080p-docked new gen console lmao

That being said, the boppers have the most satisfying jiggly physics ever and they really do give me the unsatiable urge to bop my hand against my screen LOL ... so my answer should be obvious

I thought the tripping was only tied to bad luck so I was running around with my beloved red balloon, then tripped and it floated away!!! I must have spent thousands trying to get it back from Redd who kept giving me sparklers.

Can't say I disagree. It would have been awesome to get a recipe for the firework fountain. The balloons are pretty cool, but other than that, eh.

I really liked it, but like others I’d preferred some fireworks furniture items. Really thought there would be some after we got the fireworks wall in the mail.

Acnh’s firework show has better lighting and graphics compared to NL, which is why I voted for NH.

Even though I don't really know what it's like on NL- I LOVE THIS EVENT SO MUCH AHHH!!! I literally got on, and was amazed by the fireworks. They're so beautiful!! I wore my Hikoboshi outfit that I ordered yesterday, (it's blue). I did the raffle and got a fair amount of blue items, as well as the blue headband thingy, and the uchiwa fan (which is like purple and blue i think??) - anyways I was able to create a nice lil outfit and I got some great pictures!

I was thinking the same thing lol you can't really compare the 2 visually, obviously new horizons would win with the graphics

I love both events but of course ACNH is in super HD and I can't ignore how amazing they look in this game. There are some firework bursts in NL that I thought were really cute though! I miss the heart shaped one and the little blue/pink bursts:

I never got a chance to play NL so this was the first time I've been able to participate, the graphics are top notch and the fact that you can add custom fireworks is just amazing, I loved all of the little prizes you could win, the window of interaction is perfect, not too short and not too long, although the images that you can use for the custom fireworks could use a stronger filter because I've already seen adult content being blasted into the air, other than that I loved it because as an American I didn't get to see real fireworks this year because the Rona

Recency bias and improved graphics certainly play a factor, but I'm going to have to say I prefer the New Horizons version of the Fireworks Show. I'm not usually a graphics person, but the fireworks and boppers simply look so much better, and the majority of the event does revolve around the aesthetics.

New Leaf did have a wider variety of prizes available from Redd, but while I like them (particularly the Boxed Figurine, Love Tester, and Lovely Phone), their absence isn't really a deal breaker for me.

i don’t really remember much of new leaf’s fireworks festival but i really liked nh’s version! the hd quality made the fireworks look so much more gorgeous and i also love the addition of being able to shoot custom designs off as fireworks aha - and plus, the bobbers were brought back, so i’m pretty content aha

The prizes were bad, but not as bad as NH prizes.

I preferred the prizes from Redd in New Leaf and was disappointed the Love Tester didn't return, but apart from that, New Horizons all the way! It was so stunning, and it made my evening to see my villagers so happy. I took lots of pics too!
