So I finally got all the bugs, fish, and sea creatures, and also got all of the badges. My town's land/exterior, my mayor's house, my beach and my island are also complete. The only parts of town that are not complete is the second floor of the museum and the second house, to finish these I need to get some furniture that I am waiting for to pop up in the shops. I also want to collect all of the new items from the update, once I do all of this I think I would have "completed" the game. I love the game and it worries me that once I do all of these things I will no longer want to play.

What are things that can keep you going in a nearly complete town? What do you do to keep coming back?
Also, do you think there is an end to the game or a way to finish?

I don't think there's an end, but finishing all the catalogs is definitely an awesome accomplishment!
Maybe continuing to trade or do giveaways or just interacting with the community will keep you interested! As for stuff to do in-game, maybe switch out to a new town theme or change villagers? Or maybe start over?!? It's all up to you!

I'm completed my town. The museum is done and the mayor badges are complete.
With the update I've been adding pieces to the players houses. Every two weeks I walk around town to see if something can be changed. Before winter I did a complete flower change.
When I got close to completing the mayor badges I started sending the two other players out to play.
Rotated those 2 players and they slowly worked on their badges, spent time with the villagers or just did tours. It's fun not been mayor.

I also have other towns that I can work on.

I just completed my town, but I still have to do all the badges, museum and stuff, I just started a second town but keeping my first one, (bought another ACNL). I would rotate room decorations, I always love to redo it and just keep updating your DA with change of seasons, and little things around the town to keep renewing it:)

i think i actually read in an article or somewhere that it was confirmed that once you pay off all of your home loan that you've beaten the game? however i think that you're done when you've spent over 10,000+ hours on the game lol

Eh, second floor for museum is easy! Also if you want things to go faster, try bell farming! Aka, going to Tortimer Island past 5 PM, and catch rare beetles. (They have a higher spawn rate if you cut down everything except palm trees) Even if you finish the game there is still much to explore! Which is why this is one of my favorite games.

I don't really want to change around my town's landscaping since it took me sooo long to get it organized and done. Interiors are not really my favorite thing to do. I think I might just get another copy. lol x)

i would totally get a second copy and go crazy. i kinda wanna do it so i can finally make a food themed town since ive wanted to for ages, but i just dont have enough time!

I say it's finished when you get that DA, all badges, bugs and fish, pwp's, and upgrade/complete all the homes.

I've always wanted to make a food town too! There are just too many options of towns to make.
I think I'm going to make a red color scheme/dogs/park town. I'm set, I'm getting another town. I am really addicted to this game.
