I hate it when people call themselves the "best [insert character] in the US" or whatever. There is no possible way that they can know that. They'd have to play EVERYBODY, which is impossible. There's probably always some basement dweller somewhere who's better than you, but doesn't go to tournaments and doesn't have wi-fi.

I'm okay, better than average, at least. But I have a friend, Chris, who would win any tournament he went to, if he could go to them (he's not allowed). He's seriously the best gamer I've ever seen... He's ranked in the top 100 (or 50 or 10...) in a few games, like Halo 2 and WoW. There's only one other person I know who can beat him, although it's rare. But I actually beat HIM once! But that doesn't mean I can beat Chris, lol.

i don't think a tournament can measure "best" at anything only because you aren't accounting for situations that build off of the rock-paper-scissors model. just because A beats B and B beats C, doesn't mean A would beat C.
