Chef Apple is back!
I don't know how many movies there are, but I can say this much. About less than .1% of the films in the film industry have significantly revolutionized the world. This thread is to talk about what films you have felt that changed the world. And no, you can't say any popular film in general. This is more for the ones that actually changed the world and/or the film industry.
I'll start out:
1. Gone with the Wind - for 25 years in a row, Gone with the Wind was the highest grossing film. Adjusted for inflation, it is still the highest grossing film of all time. No other film could break that record.
2. Toy Story - while we have a few popular animated films in the 90's, no animated film has changed the film industry anymore than the Toy Story Trilogy has. Toy Story 1 was the world's first CGI animated film. As it was created at the time where 2-D animated films dominate the film industry, Toy Story was one of the few exceptions. Because of this film, animated films in the 21st century were primarily CGI/3-D animated.
3. Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope - Star Wars was a huge revolutionizer. I don't know if this made sci-fi popular, but Star Wars was one of the most (if not) the most popular sci-fi franchises. It left a huge cultural impact on the world.
What films have you felt that changed the world? It's okay to say the same ones I already mentioned, but they aren't the only ones. This is an opinion thread.
