Figuring out weather seed?

I decided yesterday to start logging my in-game weather. I want to figure out my weather seed so I know exactly when meteor showers and Celeste are coming. For those who have done so (for those who aren't familiar, you can do so with Ninji's MeteoNook site), how long did it take you to figure out your seed? I do play daily (have only missed 1 day) but just was curious how long I am probably in this for.

I was lucky both yesterday and today to have the special pattern FineRain01 (3pm rainbow) and I figure unusual stuff like that probably helps.

I had somebody come over to my island on a night I had a heavy meteor shower to help me. They got my seed figured out for me in about thirty minutes. I had tried 5 times prior. Best bet is to honestly do it when you have stars and ignore the actual weather portion.

I tried but I still not understand, if only I have a friend that help me with this.. I'm too dumb

1) So logging star minutes (NOT seconds!) is the fastest and best bet. But you have to be exact about it. I messed up a couple times because I was counting ones that technically spawned at say 0:59 of a minute as the next minute, so don't be me.

2) Definitely go through your screenshots and input any celeste/rainbow days if you happen to have some shots of them, that's helps it along as well!

Otherwise I'm no help as far as logging daily weather. But I got mine in about 30 mins of logging a light meteor shower

Thanks everyone. I haven't had any meteor showers in a while (July was the last one I remember) and it's been several weeks since I had even a handful of shooting stars. I'll definitely keep an eye out for them and log them when they happen.

I figured mine out with screenshots of shooting stars, Celeste, and rain. :) Having a timestamp really helps.

When I tried to do the daily pattern, I kept getting no seeds found. It was difficult to try to guess between fine/clear/cloudy sometimes and for me it didn't help at all.

I need to clear stuff on my phone way too often for the site to be usable. Wish there was a way to actually save your data.

Yeah, it does seem tricky. The only reason I was able to figure out my weather patterns for Sept 1 and Sept 2 was the 3pm rainbow (which makes it always FineRain01). The rain that happened at 2pm is what I would call "heavy rain" based on screenshots and how I've heard people describe it, but apparently it just counted as regular rain.

I think I just need to start taking screenshots from now on so I can compare. Possibly record some video too for the rain.

I'm "backing up" my data by taking notes elsewhere. If need be I can just plug that data back into the site.

I've tried to record everything I was 100% positive about but never got a clear answer for my weather pattern. I did this for about 3 weeks in July but never found it out! Oh well!

I tried it with the "normal" weather, as in just the clouds/sunny/fine, but it didn't work for me; even with rain/heavy rain I think I somehow made mistakes. I ended up time travelling and writing down the days where Isabelle announces heavy showers (didn't bother with the times), this worked way better! It did take about 9 months of TT though.

Like many said, shooting starts are your best bet. I tried it with normal weather patterns, but it can be difficult to determine the weather pattern so it's easy to make mistakes with that.

I struggled for a while trying to tell the difference between sunny/fine clouds (although there is a button when you input these weather patterns to mark that you're not sure), and it was inputting a lot of rainy days that got me my seed. I'm sure it would have been quicker with the shooting star dates but I never manage to be on for those.

Took me a few retries until I got it. My trick was multiple Celeste visits, a rainbow, a heavy meteor shower, and rain/no rain. I had enough screenshots to log those, and it finally got me down to a single seed.

Here's mine:

Echo this. I figured about the seeds for our two islands using shooting stars. Doesn’t have to be heavy shower, light shower will do. If you spot Celeste on your island, or notice shooting stars, try to play more that night. For light meteor shower, usually there are 5 stars within a minute. According to our Island’ data, 7:00-8:00 pm usually has the most stars, 4-5 times in most occasions. Each of our islands has at least 2-3 light meteor showers nights every month. Just need to invest some time in it to figure out the seed, but once you get it, it really really worth the effort.

rain is also helpful because it always starts at the hour, so if you notice rain at 2:30, you know it is raining weather for 2:00.

I was able to find my seed with a heavy meteor shower, a double rainbow, a thunderstorm, and 4 light meteor showers with minutes recorded. I think that's a lot easier with less room for error than trying to track daily weather.

As of yesterday, MeteoNook went down to 2 seed possibilities. One of them was supposed to have a double rainbow today at 2pm. That indeed turned out to be true. I've officially found my seed and it only took a week. It really helped though that 3 out of 7 days had a rainbow.

Pretty excited that I can now see when I'm going to have meteors and meteor showers without feeling like I have to log in at night and hope I get lucky to have played at the right time. It's also nice to know days that Celeste has the possibility to show up. I honestly really don't care about Wisp, and so it's annoying to log in at night when I wasn't specifically trying to play, just in hopes of seeing Celeste.

congrats on finding your weather seed! awesome news :)

for my part, i tried using weather days for about a month and it was never effective even when i was ABSOLUTELY sure of my weather (no clouds at all, raining, etc). the thing that worked for me wasn't one heavy meteor shower either - when i input all the minutes i had written down for one, no seeds came up. i ended up having to do 4 nights of shooting stars - three light, one major and two? i think visits from celeste. i took out all the actual weather bc it wasn't helping me lol (kept getting v wrong seeds that seemed right for a bit and then turned out wrong). i got super technical and had actual sheets of logs counting stars and weather, at one point, lol.
i do think the coding for weather got updated a couple of times in recent updates so ninji really had to adapt the tool to fit the new possibilities and that may have contributed to, at least to my, struggle to find the right one.

anyways, anyone still looking, i would stick with stars! best of luck. i think 5 or so showers should get ya there solidly.

I found my seed in about an hour. I had a ton of screenshots saved so that info narrowed it down to about 26 options. I then added a couple additional pieces of info from recently and it found my seed.

It's really handy for meteor showers as I usually miss them as Isabelle always seems to have other news on major shower days. I also usually play between 5 and 6pm so I don't play after 7pm often.
