Not if the character was done well. Maybe a couple of moves would be shared but Birdo would need a different recovery to make up for the lack of a flutter jump
Also a different grab and probably an egg-shooty neutral B

Birdo being Smash's first trans rep...not sure how I feel about that.
Pretty sure in NA they retconned her to be a full girl. Plus, Birdo are a species and I'm not sure if it's every been stated that the Birdo's that appear are the same one (like Shyguy and Koopa Troopa, seeing as they could be thought of as just a random minion and have no specific roles).
Although, I'm not sure I would want Birdo and that trumpet egg sucker shooter thing in here.

I want Gooey in there. He has a real chance due to Sakurai not saying the ballots are vote-based, but how much thought you put into the vote.

She's trans to me because I think that's pretty cool.
I really don't think Gooey has a chance of being in Smash, nor does he even belong in there. He's really not important to anything at all, he's not even very relevant in his own franchise. He doesn't compare to Kirby, Dedede or Meta Knight. If we were to get a 4th Kirby rep my best bet would be Waddle Dee/Bandana Dee/Spear Dee.
I just put in a vote for Lopunny, as it is very physical and a humannoid pokemon. It is, at least in my opinion, very viable for the game, especially with its mega being part fighting type, giving it even more physical ability. But thats just me
