Feng Shui - more items = more luck?

I was wondering : Do you get better luck if you completely fill the sides of your room with the right colors, or is one item enough to max out your luck for that wall?

If it's the former, does a single item even make any difference?

I don't want to ruin my rooms with too many colored items, and I'd like to know if it's worth it to place just one of each

my understanding has always been that the more feng shui items, the more luck. some items count for double feng shui luck. you can check Liquefy's guide at gamefaqs for more details, i found it the most reliable. but having said all this, i've never been totally sold on how much feng shui ultimately improves your luck. i wonder if the lucky hats from Katrina suffice instead...
