Feelings about going to the movies...

I like going to the theater only when it's a movie I've been dying to see. I'll go with my friends but it's never on the top of my to-do list. Watching movies while listening to other people eat, talk and fidget is just not a fun experience for me, really.

I hardly manage to go anymore but i LOVE going to the movies--- mainly because i freakin love movie theatre popcorn!!! *u*

the perfect combo is movie theatre popcorn (never buttered, but some of that popcorn salt is perfect), with SnoCaps, and a pepsi or coke. alternating btw the popcorn and the chocolate is damn tasty. i even miss part of the movie to go get refills. im lucky theres a discount theatre near me-- four people can go and share the refillable snacks for like 30 bucks total. (they also run Bollywood movies and charge full price for those, i guess that's why they can charge less on the american studio movies)

the only place i lived where poeple talked about films , and every movie was packed and taken seriously was Atlanta, that was kinda fun i guess, felt like Seinfeld episodes though, i mean it was all single people at the movies...
I used to like going to the foreign/art film theater here but it went out of business... :(

the downside to movie snacks is keeping your bladder in check durign the enjd of the movie!! '*m*'

I usually don't ever going out in general, but when I'm actually in the cinema watching a movie i usually do enjoy it, and when I see the trailer for another movie I do get excited about seeing it in the cinema!

Otherwise I honestly don''t mind, I like going to the cinema for family time, so watching a film at home with my family has the same feeling, but I like it either way tbh!

I can relate to this. I hardly ever go to the movie theaters anymore. It would have to be an amazing movie to get me interested enough to go (so maybe if David Lynch releases a new movie). There's an arthouse theater nearby, but they screen from DVDs, there's no point of me seeing some classics if they aren't screening 35mm

The popcorn is one thing I do miss, it's just so dang good. <3

I only go to the cinemas if the movie just came out and I desperately wanted to see it, I don't really have friends so I watch it alone. I know..

It depends entirely on the movie. And it's also no fun to go alone, so there's that.

I won't watch horror movies or disaster movies because people can be morons and because the huge screen plus loud noises of disaster movies gives me a migraine. Action movies are fine. Comedies I'll usually wait to see on Netflix or whatnot. Fantasy movies, superhero movies (especially Marvel), and some animated movies are what I'll mainly go to the movies for. I saw Zootopia, Jungle Book, X-Men, and Warcraft recently, and want to see Finding Dory when that comes out.

My parents are good friends with the owner of our movie theatre, so we get a discount and go twice as often as I did when I was a kid. Plus, snacks. I have an issue where I constantly need to be doing something with my hands and/or snacking, so as long as I have something to nibble on, I can sit through a movie without feeling the urge to pull out Animal Crossing or Pokemon or something else to occupy my attention.

I recently went to a place called Movie Tavern with my best friend, too, where the chairs have a sort of slide-out table and you can order burgers and chicken fingers and such. That was perfect.

I went to the movie theater last night for the first time in a while and it reminded me of why I never go anymore. All the concession items are ridiculously priced, along with the move tickets, and through most of the movie some jack*** behind me was kicking my seat. I think this next part really comes from the area I live in, but my friends and I were just making jokes and being stupid before the movie started and the girls in the row in front of us kept turning around and giving us these judgemental looks. I pretty much avoid our movie theater like the plague because these judgy people are everywhere I live so I just try to stay away from all of it.

I go with a friend every time a new horror movie comes out. It's just way scarier and more fun in a dark theatre. Plus the audience reactions are always really funny. Other than that I just watch movies for free at home.

I hate going usually, unless there's a movie I want to see. I don't believe I've been to the movies since the last Star Wars came out, but that was the last thing I wanted to see. I don't think there's anything coming up for a while, actually. I do want to see Finding Dory but just in a theater with kids who think its funny to repeat lines that got laughs just doesn't appeal to me.

The popcorn though, I crave that so bad sometimes haha.

I'm the exact same way, and I'm not a movie person to begin with so I can't even remember the last time I went on my own lol... I'm happy to go if a friend asks me to see something with them, and I always have a great time, but I think that's because I'm spending time with them. I tend to space out on the movie itself, whoops

I'm not the biggest fan of going to the movies either. Going with friends can be fun (I rarely go with friends but it's better than going alone for sure) but when I go alone/with family I often feel restless. Having to sit for 2+ hours and do nothing but stare at a movie screen is not my cup of tea. When I'm at home I can pause the movie, walk around, play on my phone while watching, etc. Also movies can occasionally be just a tad too loud.

i feel the exact opposite, i go every week usually without fail with my friends even if we don't even really feel like seeing anything on. and tbh they're my brother's friend's (who i love a lot) so it's not even like i'm going to hang out with my friends it's mostly just for snacks
