As great as a hand-held console the 3DS is, I still think it's missing a few feats, with the first being Picto-chat. The Picto chat on the ds and dsi was a brilliant feature! I think it really took you away from the whole "Nintendo's for kids, so let's restrict everything to a young-target base." genre and gave us the power to do whatever we want! This DEFINITELY should of been included within the 3ds.

I think the Nintendo letter box is just the total opposite of Picto-chat. It's more daunting, less convenient and on the whole just annoying to use... If I want to speak to a friend via my 3ds then I should be able to and not have to manually write out a message letter-per-letter. If anything, this is technology retreating! We're not living in the 18th century, we don't need to manually WRITE to communicate anymore, we have advanced technology to make formal letters more convenient to make!

But yeah, on the whole I think the letterbox just lacks appeal and is a stupid idea. It should be replaced by a Picto-chat which allows you to create chat rooms and chat to anybody through wifi.

There should be some sort of chat or messaging system (besides swapnote) possibly in the friends list to be able to talk to your friends easier. But I do like swapnote, it's fun to use!

I really think they should add a device that looks square-like, and has four plug-ins, one in the middle of each side. Four cords are built-into the device, and they connect somewhere on the 3DS. The device can play any multiplayer game on the 3DS, and you insert the game into the middle of the device, closing it. This would be helpful in case you have 3 other friends over, like me, that has a 3DS but only one out of the four people has the game. That way they can all plug in their 3DS's into the device, and play one cartridge at the same time. Since this might cut down on sales, they could instead release it for the next DS in the series. Maybe something called the 3DSI. They would bring back some of the features they didn't on the DSI series, and add this device that comes with each system. Also, the device could do other things like do a four-way picture with the 3DS's at the same time. Even though people that have a couple of friends with the 3DSI would only buy one game for all of them, it would boost the game system sales through the roof and set a new record for first year sales of a Nitendo DS game system by having old features and a spectacular new feature too.

Don't get me wrong, it's fun to draw with! The thing that frustrates me is that it's one of two methods of communication on the 3ds

What old features is this supposed to be doing?

This sounds terrible.

If you're going to criticize me, then at least use constructive criticism. Why is it terrible? Saying something is terrible and not explaining why is not helpful to how I can change my idea.

It just sounds like a giant mess. Why have wires? Why not just make it four pieces of hardware, all bought by one person, and do it wirelessly?

And what old features is it going to bring back?

This. I haven't really used Swapnote though so I don't really know how it works

It could do it wirelessly instead and connect to the game in an area. It would bring back features like the DSI camera-editing studio. That was always fun for me.

I know this is a hardware thing and would be unable to be changed without them making a new system I would need to buy (And it would be stupid for them to make this anyway), but I wish that the 3DS XL had a MUCH higher PPI, that is, pixels per inch. The games look really pixellated to me, and I hate it. At only 80-90ish PPI I think, it is just terrible. (The iPhone 4+ and iPod 4+ has a 326 PPI) Also wish you could message friends that are online, NOT SWAPNOTE. Something quicker, and doesn't need to make you leave the app you are already in.
