What are your favourite themes for towns? Sometimes i see people mentioning hate towards forest or pastel towns, im newer to the game so i didnt even know themes existed until recently. And what is a pastel town anyways? im making a foresty town, and ive heard of fairytale towns of course, but other than those i wouldnt be able to recogize other themes. Which do you like best? :)

I've never heard of a "pastel town" theme. Maybe that's just the colour scheme they're using? Like white, yellows, pinks, and blues?

Anyways, I've made my town theme very town-like if that even makes sense. It's homey and looks like a town xD. I have brick paths set up, trees here and there, parks, benches, etc...

Fairytale is easily the most common theme. It's not bad , just really overdone and it's like seeing the same thing over again. Fairytale is a really nice theme if you add a special "twist" though. I like winter and autumn themed towns the best.

Defiantly Horror, if it's done right. I want a town that tells a story and makes you think about every design choice made. I guess any town can do this really, but horror towns seem to do it more often.

whats a pastel town

Pastel colors, or lighter colors and lits of pinks and blues. So pink and blue villagers and flowers and fairytale stuff basically.

I also really like modern and the "cute" spooky holloween towns.

I like any town that looks put together, like there was some planning and thought put into it. It's not just about getting the PWPs that fit a theme, like zen or fairytale, it's getting the trees and flowers to complement the theme, the characters wearing clothes that fit with the theme as well, and little touches like that.

I like bustling metropolises. I've seen a Boondopolis town, except it was in full Japanese. I also once went to a town randomly, which Luna chose, and it was like that city in the incredibles.

There was also a user who shared her address, which looked like a hybrid of Fairytale and City.

From what I've seen, fairytale towns tend to use the fairytale PWP's and buildings. They also have mostly pink paths, flowers and normal trees that are pink from updating in the spring. I just love these towns, I'm a huge fan of anything pink.

I've seen what I assume are pastel towns because they are slightly different to standard fairytale towns. They tend to use a lot of different coloured path and tile designs. Mainly light pink, purple, blue and white. I like these too, especially if they have tiles with cute little animal faces and things on them.

I like all towns people have spent time designing and putting together. I know how hard it is to get it just right and to your own liking. While it may not be the favourite of others, as long as you like it that's the most important thing imho.

"Pastel" is a term I've seen often coupled with "fairy tale" and most likely seems to be about cutesy, childish/girly stuff, maybe throw some food/bakery in that, Merengue and Marshal everywhere, you get the idea.

Personally I'm into, uh, creative stuff. Things with a twist you don't see everyday. Villagers you don't see everyday. Innovative ideas being taken advantage of. I also like nature-based towns, though it seems they're becoming overrated these days? I haven't gotten my Dream Suite yet and my town's almost a year old, lol.

Oh yeah, it's also cool to see how much effort someone's put into their town, regardless of theme.
