Wow. this actually made me tear up a little. I’m so incredibly sorry for your loss. May Kyle rest in peace. I actually have a similar story. My aunt was one of my best friends. She was a happy person who had the cheesiest sense of humor, a bit of a short temper, but was one of the kindest people I’ve ever met. She loved green and frogs with all her heart. She unexpectedly died at just 43 last year, and more or less the the anniversary of her death, my cousin got Lily, and she genuinely reminds us of her. Animal crossing do be a way for the spirits to communicate thoI've had him since New Leaf but my reasoning for loving him as much as I do is a bit sad. Where else to share it though haha. Gonna hide it in a spoiler in case people are sensitive to these themes.
I had a best friend named Kyle who supported my fanatasism of all Animal Crossing. He had a lot of anxiety and depression but was the sweetest and acted really confident despite all of that. He loved music, primarily ska punk, and wanted to be a blacksmith. He was an amazing human being. Towards the end of summer break after he turned 18 his depression took a turn for the worst and he took his own life. I was absolutely devastated. Couldn't leave my home most days. When school started again it was a battle and I threw myself into both Animal Crossing and a webcomic. One day Kyle the smug Wolf moved into my town. and I cried. Because it was like he was still around in some way. They act very similar and have similar interests. so it was like this earth shattering moment for me. I refuse to have any animal crossing town without him now.
