I only own Late Night, Pets, World Adventures and Ambitions so I haven't got all that many to choose from. I personally liked World Adventures the most out of them all, although I have to say I would rather like Seasons, although I probably wouldn't play it enough to warrant getting it.
I just got the Sims 3 a couple weeks ago! I got the "Sims 3 With Supernatural" pack as well as the expansion double-deal on Generations and World Adventures. I'm enjoying all of them so far! Supernatural is really fun (although zombies are hella annoying).
I'm definitely going to be keeping an eye on this thread, since I'm still trying to figure out which expansion packs that I want to get next! I've heard great things about Seasons and Late Night, so those are at the top of my list, but I'm also considering University and Ambitions. Someone on tumblr warned me against getting Pets because of a glitch with strays---can anyone verify if there's a serious problem with it? Because to be honest, I love animals and I was thinking about the Pets expansion before they warned me off of it.
That said, I'd love to hear if anyone else has suggestions that I haven't listed/named or can verify which are definitely worth the investment. I don't know how soon I'll be getting any more expansions, but maybe a few before the end of the year. Any input would be appreciated!
I have all of them up until Seasons, so I can't speak for anything beyond that.. But looking back, I would have been happy just grabbing Seasons, Generations, Ambitions, and Supernatural. They add so much that I use almost every sim-day that I can't imagine not having them now, lol. <3
I thought I'd be more excited by the addition of pets. Mostly the unicorns. But just being able to control my cat now was really exciting.. until I got bored of taking care of it.
Though I think it was a step back that they don't hold a job like they did in 2. I don't think Boyfriend could live without that, his cat was supporting him while his dude was routinely fired. How bad can you be at this game? Lol.
I liked Late Night and Generations best. Late Night added a dimension I wanted to the game (a much more urban feel), and Generations just feels like it adds more depth to the family dynamic.
^ I have to agree on Generations. It added so much that really made it feel like they were a family. Stupid teen things like graduation and going to prom (preferably not in that order, but y'know). There was so much more emphasis on pretty weddings, hanging out with grandpa, and just raising your sims in general.
It's all just so adorable! <3
On the other hand, while you can turn off the pop-ups, I really wish they didn't have a scrapbook/Kodak moment every time they did a thing.
