Hi guys!

So I have two extremely popular villagers (Marshal and Marina) who are going to move out of my town soon. I wanted to do some kind of raffle giveaway, but I wanted to make it fun/creative. I've seen a lot of really cool raffles already, but I wanted to ask:

What are some well-implemented raffles you've seen?

My current ideas include art, stories, comic strips, coloring a line drawing of mine... or all of the above! What would you suggest?

favorite kinds are just the ones to enter.

you will not get so many entries if you make it a drawing raffle, since many people are too lazy.

Take a picture of a place in real life(eg. A waterfall) and either draw/put the villager in the picture that is going to be raffled. Most creative one wins.

Rules : the picture can be from the internet(just give credit to whoever took the picture)
Photo must be clear
All i can think of :3
I dont know if this has been done. Just took it out of my mind.

dream about host's town and post pics of the fave parts of the town (to enter the raffle o3o) :)

also, I like the idea of creating a cute town tune to enter the raffle ^^

Yeah, honestly, people seem to prefer to just enter xD

Actually my favorite one that I saw was an art one where everyone that made a drawing was entered into the raffle with equal chance so skill level didn't matter. I think art raffles are fun and you get people who really want the villager entering!

I think making people work for a entry is more interesting!

With that being said, I typically stay away from art ones because I feel like it's er kind of inadvertently cheating artists. For instance, say you raffled out Whitney; she's around 15m? Lets say you get 9 entrants with the quality of work averaging 3m per piece, you pretty much just scored yourself 27m worth of art for a 15m prize you only have to award to a single person haha.

I draw purely for fun so I have participated in raffles/contests of this nature, but I've heard this kind of sentiment among a lot of more serious artists and it bothers me a little bit @_@; though I don't know how much TBT values artstuffs! (but it is true the quality of work for raffles tends to be a bit on the sketchy side 8'D)

Thanks so much for y'all's input! I really like a lot of the idea here!

I guess my dilemma is that I wanted more than just a free life hack, but something people could participate in. Because I could just sell the villager, and I would receive something nice. I could just send them away to someone, and they could receive something nice. Or, I could try to build a celebration of something in which many people benefit (with one person receiving the big something nice). But it's hard to do it in a way that isn't overbearing or "unfair."

I guess in real life raffles are inherently about a "free" prize, but they're usually sneakily about something else, too. So I guess I wanted to make the "something else" something that would benefit everyone. So art, or stories, or music, or each other, or something that is celebrating the great community here and the game of Animal Crossing.

Hmmmnnnmmg. I don't know how to solve this dilemma. But again, thanks for y'all's input, they're great thoughts to think about!

My favorite raffles are the quick ones where only like 7 people enter cause that's how I won Marshal haha. Riddle raffles are cool too!

Depends
In a raffle for Marshal, if people really want him, I think drawing a picture is a great idea.
If they are too lazy to do that, they don't really want him

Art sucks because not everyone can draw and it can be cheated (i.e. have someone else do the drawing or using someone's work).

Pictures of the host's town in a dream is a good one. Something like three pictures per entry. If a winner can't be decided, choose the top three and randomize them.
