I'm now 27, and I'm not ashamed to admit that I was and still am a huge fan of Dragonball Z. I grew up watching it....I'd come home from Middle/High School everyday and watch the new episodes as they aired on Toonami.

I have every season and all the movies on DVD (except Battle of the Gods, obviously). I have most of the games as well.

Anyway, post about your favorite moments from the series, videos are welcome as well!

jk its when the dog was revived

I marathoned the entire series one summer. dragon ball, dbz, & dbgt. all of it. it took like 10 hours a day for 2 months omfg

A few characters died a few times, but it's really not that exaggerated xD Goku died twice (1st to Raditz, then to Cell due to self-sacrifice), Krillin died twice (1st to Frieza, 2nd to Android 17 in GT), Tien/Yamcha/Chiaotzu once each (to Nappa), Piccolo once...That's all I believe, I could be wrong.

The dog being revived was pretty awesome as well.

I liked seeing one of the villains actually getting their wish (Lord Slug), but he wished for the wrong thing xD

It's been awhile since I had a marathon, so I should probably do that soon xD

ngl gt was p boring to me

also yea not too many main charas died but they spent so much time dead/nearly dead all the time it felt like they died always forever

also why didnt they just wish the saiyains wouldnt arrive on earth and would end up flying into the sun THEN recollect the dragon balls and wish goku back

like the usage of the dragon balls in dbz annoyed me a bit like there were much more sensible wishes if theyd just thought for a bit

Well the dragonballs do have a couple of major rules:

1st is the obvious, you have to have all 7 of them.
2nd, once a wish is made, they turn to stone/go inactive for 1 year when they are spread back out. So they cant be used as often as you might think.
3rd, a wish cant be made that would go against someone's free will. The only example of this is when after Namek blew up, they tried to wish Goku back to life, not realizing he was still alive. Shenron told them this and they tried to wish his home, which went against Goku's will and Shenron was unable to do it.

As for why they didn't wish for other things...I think the writers did it that way to keep things interesting.
