Hi! :) I'm completely aware of the diving trick to get Public Works Projects at at much faster rate however are there any other factors that play into it to make getting pwp requests more common?

I've heard that having more PWP in your village increases the rate of requests, having more friendship with your villagers increases chances of more requests and attending the ceremony after a pwp has been constructed also increases the chance however is that true or completely false? Also do certain personalities such as Uchi or Lazy make it easier to unlck them or is that another lie?

as far as I know, the diving trick is the only way to actively trigger getting PWPs suggested. (or just generally being out of all your villagers' sight.) I've never heard of any of the things you mentioned making a difference (having more PWPs/higher friendship, and I know for a fact attending the ceremonies after doesn't matter bc I never do them lol) but I highly doubt they do. I've also never heard of certain personalities being more prone to suggesting projects; in fact, I usually have the hardest time with uchis.

that's just my experience though! although I'd say it's always good to have your friendship level up high with everyone anyway, just in case. that seems like the only thing that may have any validity. good luck! c:

Just time travel each day and do the diving trick since getting more than 1 pwp request a day is rare

uhm. could someone explain the diving trick for me?
fill your pockets with flowers, don't carry more than 100 bells on you, and basically just go sit in the ocean where none of your villagers can see you. sit there for five minutes or so and when you come out, it'll trigger one of your villagers to ping you. it won't always be for a PWP request, but emptying your pockets of anything they can try to buy off of you and not carrying any bells helps limits the things they'll ask when they do ping you. it can get time consuming, but I've gotten almost all of my PWP requests this way! c:

Doing the diving trick when most villagers are sleeping helps you getting them earlier. I haven't experienced any difficulty in getting PWPs, no matter what friendship level or amount of PWPs in my town.

I don't usually do the diving trick because I'd rather do things around town while trying to get PWP's instead of just sitting in the ocean. I just walk around town doing whatever I need to and a villager will ping. However, I do agree that the diving trick is the best way.

i always do the diving trick as it works best for me.
But yes to the filling pockets with flowers and carrying little money with you.

I did the trick today and Rocket pinged for the picnic blanket. (:

I have never used the diving trick. In fact, right after I load the game I get a ping from a random villager always (I don't really know if that's normal), and 70% of the times I get a new PWP to build, so yeah. But the diving trick may be a good one if you can't get them to ping you, though.

UGH the diving trick is frustrating because I feel like I get so little but I know that's relative to my impatience, haha!

Just try wandering around outside too. Water flowers or shake trees....I've had a lot of success with PWP's that way even without the diving trick.

People suggest going to pwp ceremonies because you have 4 villagers that go to them and it marginally helps in getting a ping, assuming no one has pinged you recently. So if, say, Villager A pinged me 3 minutes ago for a catchphrase, if you do the pwp ceremony you won't get a ping. However, if nobody has pinged you in a long time, having 4 villagers in one area helps just so they're not as spread out. It doesn't always do much though. I only ever go to them if I don't get any pings for a while.

I'm going to try to diving trick.. i just need to get a swimsuit. I heard when you dive for 5-10 mins it resets the speech for the villagers. Good luck!

The wetsuit trick!

Put the wetsuit on jump in water, and go to the very corner where u can onlysee water around you and wait 5 minutes.
Go out and talk to everyone
Works well if you have no bells and fill your pockets with flowers~

I use the diving trick as well. this is mean but I also trap the villager I'm trying to get a PWP from so I can find them easily (digging holes around them) & so I can make sure they'll be the one to ping - it does take several tries but I've been doing this with my uchi

Oh! omg.. I've been trying for the last half hour and NOTHING! :(

And while I'm waiting in the water, i always worry my character is going to drown! Feel so silly.

UPDATE:

I think friendship level ahs a lot to do with it. Because I don't talk to my Uchi villager at all. So she doesn't ping me.

I personally never found the diving trick to help. I always got them asking for a catchphrase or asking about something else and that was with all flowers and no bells.

It seemed to work better when I was just wandering around doing something like landscaping or standing around. I usually trap the villager I want a pwp from, then talk to 2 or 3 villagers I don't want a suggestion from, and then hide/landscape somewhere for 5 minutes. Make sure no other villager but the one you want pings you after those 5 minutes and it usually works. It may also work better when other villagers are asleep. It can take several tries but it usually worked. ^^;

Friendship levels don't matter, I've gotten almost every smug pwp when I hardly spoke to my smugs. They just have to not see you for 5 minutes. Good luck!

Are you sure that friendship level don't work? because i've been trying for several times and the villagers I don't talk to wont even ping me.

I think friendship does matter actually. I always use the diving trick on Bevelle and never had any issues with getting pings.

In my second town last night I was trying for over an hour, getting into the water for 5 minutes, getting out and running past all of the villagers... not a single ping in an hour... I gave up in the end.

It certainly wasn't an issue with how I was doing the trick, as I have done it many, many times before very successfully... the only thing I can think is that I haven't really talked much to the villagers in my second town... but if it definitely isn't friendship, then I'd love to hear other ideas... it's driving me mad.

yeah, the diving trick is the best way to do it. Basically the reason why it works is because it resets villagers dialogue, and the next villager you walk past will always ping you (unless they were the last villager to ping you before diving) be sure to fill your pockets with flowers or bells so they dont ask you to buy/trade/sell. I wanted to get a certain PWP from my uchi, so what i did was i trapped her with holes near the beach so she was the first person i saw haha.

Yeah, the villagers you have only talked to a couple times wont ping you. You don't need to be best friends, just talk to them a couple times a day for three days maybe and they should ping you.
