I've been contemplating buying Fantasy Life for some time now. I don't play many RPGs, but this one seems fairly simple to get into and I like the style of it. Also, I like the character customization aspect of it. I enjoy games where you can choose your own play style and path. But other than that, I haven't really read much into it. So, I'd like to know... who has played this game, and what are your opinions? Would it be worth it? What is appealing (or not) to you about this game? What's the longevity of the game? (Meaning, how long does the plot last and how long does it hold your interest?)

Thanks in advance! Curious to see what everyone says. :)

It's a fun rpg that has a lot of focus on character progression. The downside is, it has a very lackluster story. If you don't care about the story and just want to focus on leveling up your character and completing side quests to get more and better loot, then yes I would suggest buying it. If you're expecting an rpg with a story like Bravely Default or something to keep you really engaged then I would pass.

I never planned on getting it, I got it for my birthday
its my current addiction, I really love the game
I'm trying to complete it currently

I would recommend reading reviews to see what the game is all about, because to list the features would take a while. But I will say I have it and enjoy it! It's a pretty simplistic game/mellow RPG, basically no grinding so it's fun to pick up and play. If I'm being completely honest, I thought the story was extremely text-heavy and tedious to plod through. But other than that I don't find any cons with this game, and it didn't stop me from enjoying it.

As for play-time, I'm at about 100 hours and I completed the story a while back, just finishing up the final quests and harder bosses now. But I haven't gotten the DLC yet, that adds quite a bit of extra to the game. I haven't gotten insanely hooked on it as I have some games - I've put it down and picked it back up a couple times to get as far as I have. But it's a solid game. c:
