Just put of curiosity- why do you like Quillson? I had him in my town and I couldn't wait to get rid of him. It's not the looks, it's what he says. Everytime I talked to him I wanted to punch him in the face.

I'm guessing you were asking someone in the thread, but since you didn't quote anyone, I'm going to respond if that's okay? Anyways, I think that that would just be hatred for the whole smug personality category, not just Quillson. I personally think the things the smugs say are cute, and they have calming voices, which is why my smugs, Julian and Lucha, are some of my favourites.

Tiffany is definitely wonderful, I've never had her in my towns but I would love to one day, I don't understand why anyone would dislike her.

I get mad when I see people calling Canberra ugly. I had her once but then she left without telling me and I was so sad. I loved her so much and she gave me her picture. She's my precious sassy koala bby <3

Thanks for the answer i only had one smug before, Ken, and I didn't like him either but I didn't find him nowhere near as annoying as Quillson...

I don't know if Tabby is hated but I absolutely love Tabby while sure when I first met her I was like oh god but after a while she warmed up to me.
Same with Jambette she's not that ugly in my opinion and I've had her multiple times so I've gotten use to her. I also see people on this topic saying that Canberra gets a lot of hate as well (I haven't seen any of it though) but my friend had her and I thought she was really cute and I'd love her in my town!!

I don't know why anyone makes a big deal about villagers at all. Everyone is allowed to have their own opinion. You can love the "popular villagers" because you love them, and not be some prejudice sheep following the trend. Pretty of my villagers are really high tiers, but I chose them because I like them. I've actually really disliked some of the most popular villagers because of their design, but I don't hate any villagers unless they cause issues for me. For example, an unwanted move-in. I think Julian and Zucker are pretty ugly to be honest. I actually find some of the least popular villagers to be the cutest, but they aren't hated. I think Agnes is super cute. I don't know what tier she is now, but she was in Tier 5 back when I adopted her.

My point is, when I see threads like this, it irks me to think that people could be so judgmental of other people for liking villagers that they don't. "Oh, gross, you like Tangy? Why? She's so ugly. You're weird." < Basically this. I hate this.

Also, to get back on track, a villager that I like, that some people may hate, is Octavian. He's a rough looking cranky, but I have a huge soft spot for crankies and I love Octopi, and I just really like Octavian's design. He just happened to be my second choice, and I have Marina, who happens to be popular.
