Fang moved out... Wondering about the moving cycle?

My beloved Fang moved out. Haven't been able to check my town often due to my job, and finally after some down time I saw he just up and left without a ping. I'm heartbroken. He's my favorite wolf; I wanted to keep him there forever.

So now I'm wondering how long does it take for a villager to want to move back into the town after moving away? I would love for Fang to come back...

If you lost count of how many villagers have been cycled out, check the shopping center, most of the villagers who left within 16 villagers will be there still, so if Fang stops visiting the shops, there is a likely possibility you can get him back.
