total a-hole
Well, since music seems to be such a huge topic here recently, I figured starting this phad again would be a good idea. Here I'll post my top 10 list for the week; feel free to comment. I know you'll all love it since my taste in music is just godly. The top 10 is based off of what I'm listening to the most, and why. Maybe you'll find something you'll like. Every song here is available on iTunes. Both genres and lengths are according to iTunes.
Top 10 for 04/07/08-04/14/08
1: Nine in the Afternoon (Panic! At the Disco)
Genre: Alternative
Length: 3:12
Panic! is kinda gay, but I dig this new single from their new album, Pretty. Odd. A slower song, and a happy one. These days I need something to cheer me up.
2: I Write Sins Not Tragedies (Panic! At the Disco)
Genre: Alternative
Length: 3:07
Another Panic! song. As you can see by my signature, I like this song. It's an oldie, but their new album got me re-interested in them, as ashamed I may be.
3: We Are the End (Alexisonfire)
Genre: Rock
Length: 3:44
Chances are you haven't heard of AOF. They're a Canadian post-hardcore band. It's a great type of music- a good versus evil with a sweet, soft voice mixed with a gritty screaming style. Makes for one hell of a band. This is a great song with a great meaning.
4: Creature (Atreyu)
Genre: Rock
Length: 3:01
Straight out of The Best of Atreyu, this song strays away from the softer side of Atreyu and jumps right into the screamo for the whole song.
5: Crash Victim/Black Science Navigator (Praxis)
Genre: Rock
Length: 3:38
I am a seriously HUGE Buckethead fan. Buckethead plays for Praxis as a side-project. This is probably their most popular song. They have some weird music, but this has some great guitar riffs. A good, quirky song.
6: Reinventing Your Exit (Underoath)
Genre: Rock
Length: 4:23
Underoath is a pretty popular band. This is one of their most popular hits. It's an addicting song.
7: This Could be Anywhere in the World (Alexisonfire)
Genre: Rock
Length: 4:04
AOF's most popular song. SUCH a beautiful song, I can't even explain it. Watch the music video. (YouTube it.) This is only at #7 because I've been listening to it for like a year.
8: Writing on the Walls (Underoath)
Genre: Rock
Length: 4:02
Another one of Underoath's greatest hits. Addicting.
9: Point/Counterpoint (Streetlight Manifesto)
Genre: Alternative
Length: 5:28
iTunes depicts SM's song as Alternative; which is wrong. They're a punk-ska band. Anyway, a great, GREAT song. A little long for my liking, but nevertheless great.
10: To a Friend (Alexisonfire)
Genre: Rock
Length: 3:18
Starts soft, goes hard, gets soft, goes hard. A sweet combination with a great message. The kind of song that makes your hair stand on end.
