I have her amiibo so I can always get her back, but I'm still kinda bummed about it. She and Viche are two of my favorites and now I'm kind of debating moving her back, or getting someone new so things don't get stale. :(

I definitely don't play as much as I used to, but I still play often enough that I should know who's leaving, and plus I felt securing because everyone said that amiibo's don't really ask to move, but I guess not.

It's really rare and it takes a long time but Amiibo villagers do ping and ask to move. If you have like 10 villagers one of your amiibo villagers can move, even though, as I said, it's pretty rare.

Yeah it definitely does happen, one of my amiibo villagers pinged me once. I think this was after I declined all the requests from my other regular villagers to move. So it takes some time, and it doesn't happen very often, but it happens! Sorry about that, I hope your new Cece is as nice as the old one! I do believe sometimes they still vaguely recognise you or allude to it, I hope it's the case for you :)

I don't know why or how that rumour has been floating around since the WA update but, yes, the amiibo villagers can move; if you had 10 amiibo villagers in town for instance, then it would corrupt the natural flow and transitioning that Animal Crossing offers this ruining the game experience, so it would be weird if villagers didn't move, no matter how they moved in.
