Ever given blood?

I can't. My veins are to small and they roll. Plus I have an iron deficiency like 98% of the time so I've been told they can't take my blood.

I asked them to take it out of my left arm but they said it was too small so they took it out of my right arm. It's fine, it's forgivable of course but my right arm is my dominant arm so I couldn't write because my arm was so stiff.

I just barely weigh enough, but they have a hard time finding my veins = 3=
Plus, I'm rather squeamish, so I don't like to anyways.

when i was 11 i donated blood...to myself lol.

i gave like 2 bags of blood because i was having a pretty serious surgery and in case i lose too much blood, i had some.
but apparently they didnt even need to use my blood? so i hope someone was happy with my blood.

I am somewhat a universal donor, I'm O+
it would be cool if was O- though so anyone & everyone could use my blood.

but i last volunteered to donate blood around 17 when my school did a blood drive. i guess i didnt drink enough water? because nothing was coming out, and it was so painful too :( much more painful than when i was 11.

No, and I don't intend to. The countless number of blood tests I've had to take because of numerous unfortunate infections is unbearable enough as it is, and I despise the sensation of having blood taken from my veins... of being on the verge of fainting. I understand that it would have been for a good cause, but... still.

It's really great your O+ but Red Cross will hunt you down! What I mean is that my friend is O+ too and Red Cross called her every week.

I actually can't give blood because of weight but I get my blood drawn every 1-3 months for testing bc I'm really sick ;w;

They can never ever find my veins because I have really thin, almost flat veins and thick skin. I always ask for the most experienced nurse and I can tell them generally where they usually find one and I always end up getting pricked like 3-5 times. It sucks when they try on one arm and then the next bc then my arms are reduced to limp noodles. They can't even find a vein in my hands lmao.

I absolutely hate getting blood drawn. I'm not squeamish per se, I just hate the feeling of a needle inside me/getting blood drawn. Why cant they just slice my palm and let me bleed into a cup or something smh

I was only 80 lbs when I donated 2 bags for myself...IDK why they say you gotta be at minimum 110 lbs.

Kasuralixa, you should really drink lots and lots and lots of water prior to getting blood drawn! It makes it easier for the blood to flow out

I do! I always drink 16oz beforehand but I try to drink 32oz. I even request for the little tiny bottles they have stocked before they draw ;__; My veins hate me

Reminds me of the time this guy went in to give blood for the first time and they gave him a first timer nurse. The nurse fainted during the thing and the guy passed out as well.

what the how
hopefully they didnt faint with the needle still in the guy??

Nah, they did. But the follow up story says a nurse immediately entered the room and helped. They got a cookie.

Honestly if my nurse fainted I'd probably faint too. At that point all hope is lost.
I guess thats why they always leave the door open.
