I think I know why last year’s eggs became rare. It’s because we had 12 eggs to choose from when purchasing. When you have a smaller selection to choose from, and everyone has a lot to spend, there’s going to be more of each in circulation. But with how many eggs we got to choose from last year, we didn’t have as many of each in circulation.

My advice is that we can have the two-basket gimmick again only with the first year or two after the next Animal Crossing game comes out. After that, we should go down to one basket every year, until AC7 comes out. Then the cycle repeats.

Meanwhile, it doesn’t hurt to rerelease older egg collectibles every once in a while. I’m glad that the Disco Ball Egg got a second spin during the 2024 Egg Hunt. But they should randomly pick three to six retro eggs every year (preferably the ones released in 2016, 2017, 2018, or 2019) and put it in the shop along with some new eggs. I would also like to see other Easter collectibles besides just eggs.

I love the idea of having something else besides the eggs, for example little Peeps collectibles in different colours As far as how many should be released or re-released I'm not familiar enough with the egg hunts yet, or with the collectibles market, to judge but I usually look favourably on re-releasing older stock in small/limited quantities

Is there a FAQ on what this about? I looked at the Rules but I didn't find anything helpful. At first I thought this was about AC eggs available this Easter but reading backwards I see it's about Bell Tree Forum eggs (I think) sold in an Estore somehow. The first page of this thread doesn't explain much about the process.
Its probably me being new to AC and also my advanced age contributing to my confusion.
If someone can please include a link to the page that explains what is meant by "collectables" and how to join the games to get them awarded or where to buy them or an exchange works, I would greatly appreciate it.
I am on an iPad and one post I read said mobile is more difficult so maybe that is adding to my problem of understanding all this.

Don't worry, I've not really dabbled in collectibles myself and I recently asked about them in the information desk thread in this section of the forums and also about site events!

First I just want to mention that you will see people on this forum with little icons under their avatar. These 'collectibles' are usually sold in the Shop (there's a button in the top right) for special Bells you can earn when posting on these forums (usually shortened to TBT.) Some of these collectibles are only available at certain times of the year when events on these forums are held.

Now that I've explained what this is briefly I'd like to share with you a place that has a record of all past events if you want to familiarize yourself with what to expect:
Event Archive Directory
I think there is also a thread somewhere recording when each collectible was obtainable.

But anyway it's much better to experience an event yourself in person c: Apparently the Easter one is very popular so I think we're in for a real treat!

I can think of other reasons why the 2025 eggs became rare, and none of it has to do with the scope of selection
