Embarrassing Things in Public

I used to have a really bad stutter when I was younger. It's mostly under control these days, but it still pops up when I'm really anxious or, believe it or not, when someone asks me my name. That's right, I can't say my own name without stuttering horribly. And I don't mean just a brief little repetition of a syllable or something, this can be a full-on 20 second mess sometimes. Thankfully, I've found a few ways to work around it. I've taken to asking a friend or family member to say my name for me if there's one around when someone asks for my name in public and if not, I usually just apologise and write it down on a piece of paper or type it out on my phone. Clunky? Yes! Embarrassing? Oh god yes! But it's a solution at least :P

I stutter too!

I remember giving an English presentation about a book I read and I stuttered really long over a word. I forget which one but it started with a D. Anyways, I awkwardly laughed and then said the word clearly. It was horrifying. People were looking at me with what looked like a look of second hand embarrassment. FML
