Okay so this took a day extra because I just wanted to order one more item and then I had last minute doubts about the carpet but here is my entry:

My idea behind this was modern living / life in the city. So I designed it after someone's apartment room in a skyscraper in the city. Cityscape wall also looks nice hehe. The apartment feel is why I put in a coat rack.
I put in sleek and black furniture to make it look modern and up to date.
I needed a flat-screen TV of course for the modern theme and the black corner sofa complemented it nicely. I felt like lava lamps were also something quite modern. The GameCube and tabletop game are relatively modern and everyone has a laptop nowadays so I put a small table there for one.
The owner of the room has a slight music interest so I put in an amp and electric guitar as well as a DJ turntable for those parties modern young people have. Rockin' K.K. is also on the wall near his work desk.
I used the exhibit partition as a screen next to the bed separating sleep and work (that table has a homework set and there's also an aluminium briefcase there too). I think I made it a bit too cluttered though. ^-^;

yay finally completed my entry, took way longer than i thought it would, got more than a little frustrated at a couple points but i'm pretty happy with the end outcome!
ok so rather than a modern sleek look i went with a more modern contemporary feel, i wanted something quite clean and symmetrical, this is the kind of room i can imagine in grand designs or something.. i wanted the shoji screen to look like huge tall windows that you might see in modern flats and i love all the greenery, almost as if you're sitting outside. obviously a modern room isn't complete without laptop/flatscreen tv/lava lamps/electric guitats, also added the digital photo frame that looks a bit like a tablet. thought the minimalist series looks very contemporary esp mixing the white and the green! i know it's not maybe obvioiusly modern at first glance but this is definitely something that's my own taste! hope you like it

The pitch ~
Presenting the modern bathroom of dreams! In the center is a marble bath with two shower heads, with a nice view of a blue marlin and beautiful nautical paintings. To the right, there's a deluxe shower and a smooth bed perfect for massages. Within steps of the doorway is an impressive throne, complete with a souped-up desktop. Reading material is also within reach. Of course, there's a vanity complete with makeup station and a HUGE sink with ample cabinetry; notice how the air conditioner is neatly tucked away. To the far side is an easy-to-pull-out treadmill with a perfect view of the flat screen. Of course, you could just sit on the comfy seats that match the chessboard floor! There is surround sound and a couple of plants to put the ahhh in spa.
