DVD playback confirmed next year

Well unfortunately next year the wii will allow DVDs to be played, I myself would like to trade mine in if the DVD player built in plays BluRay and HDdvd, if it doesn't... I have a regular DVD player already. But this was just confirmed today so thought I'd mention it.

That is about what I am think unless it plays the next gen DVD stuff. I was severly confused when I saw Bluray and HDDVD on the shelves, I first thought, Oh crap I need to worry about this now, but since it seems like it will be a slower transition and since bluray and HDDVD players play DVD I should be fine.
