How do you know if the item is duped? Will there be any bug or affection to our game for owning/mistakenly buy duped item not knowing it? o.o

I'm not sure about NL, but when I played WW I worked as a deliverer for one of the giveaways at ACC and most of the items there were made by suppliers with r4 carts and I never heard of any problems :)

I see. I just found out about duped items when I suspiciously thinking how people have lots of valuable items and willing to let go at retail at lower price (if you really buy from shop is cost more than you earn from retail). And also people complaining of "NO DUPED ITEM". Wondering how you know if it is duped? lolx

I don't dupe myself (wouldn't know how) but I don't think there's anyway to tell if an item is duped, I'm also pretty sure owning a duped item wouldn't affect your game at all, seeing as many people dupe on other sites and I've never read reports of problems.

I see. Just seeing people request "no duped item" to be sell/trade to them I thought I will affect the game or something. This also explain how people get lots of high value item.

Duped items are no different than other items lol. There's absolutely no way to tell at all.

Duping an item, by definition, creates an identical copy of the item. There is no difference between the original and the duplicate. All dangers of duping come from the process, not the resulting item. Basically no: no danger, no way to tell.

Duping simply creates a 100% identical copy of an item. I've accidentally duped black roses before. There's no danger in the process of performing it. I really don't see a point in asking for items that are not the duplicate.

Say if I duplicate a ivory piano, that piece of furniture would be the same as the original.
So as others have said, they are the same.

There's absolutely no difference or a way to tell. I work as a deliverer for one of ACC's giveaway. I'm pretty sure a particular item for the giveaway is duped like crazy. There's no game glitch or any other difference at all.

For WW there was a program which let you edit the save file. There are similar programs for pokemon games which let you edit everything from moves to IV/EV to original trainers and shiny status. As for AC:WW, you could change the entire layout of your town or the flow of the river, plant trees and flowers by the click of a mouse, and of course fill your storage with items. I used it for my town layout.

The duping is done in a similar way as with the pokemon games: "Don't turn off the powe....". But unlike pokemon games the AC furniture doesn't have a unique number or trainer, so you can't tell a difference.

It's expoilting a glitch in the game so I wouldn't call it cheating but I'm not a fan of duping either. A friend of mine duped about 40 Million Bells and I'm a bit jealous because I never have more than 5 Million...

On topic: There is no way to tell if an item is duped or not and I don't really mind.

Duping is cheating

Yepp totally is. But because there's no way telling it from duped or not, there's no point when buyer enhance they DO NOT want duped item. Funny isn't it? When you can't tell the different?

- - - Post Merge - - -

Also, even we knew they duped, there's no way to stop them (just don buy then) because that's their game and unlike other online game, you have GM to ban you from hacking, glitch or etc, is up to them here in ACNL. =x

But they're not allowed to buy or sell duped items on TBT. If we find out, they get in trouble.

Haha I saw that =x thay why I am curious about this xD Now I fully understand it can't tell from there unless one person have too many same rare items, which I found suspicious for the first time =x

No danger aside from the risk of your file becoming corrupted.

In my town that has visitor I set the prices at 20 bells. The villagers think something wrong with it. Leave it there for my guest to buy. I bought a Gracie item in my TT town. Gracie gave me the same item during a fashion check in my real town. I've put it up for sale in retail for 20 bells for a guest to buy.
