The DSi XL was a horrid idea to begin with. And the DS has lived long enough. It's been here since what, 05? I think it's lived a good long life.

Yeah, but look what they did to the Game Boy Micro, they released the DS right after it was released, and now not many people have even heard of it (from my experience). It was the best in the Game Boy Advance series, and it's design should have been reflected in future handhelds from Nintendo. Not that the current ones are bad, but I liked it's style better. =P Plus, the DS series has so far run with a very similar to the Game Boy Advance.

I for one hope it's true rumors, I still have the original ds and don't plan on getting any of the improved version. Though if they're making a completely new one then I'm all for it, as long as it supports original ds games.

and for the pokemon, it'd make sense for them to release it on this new ds than the one already out since for one, it'd keep tradition and not release a new series on the same console, and two, it would be better for marketing since people would have to buy the new ds to play the new game.

Yeah, but look what they did to the Game Boy Micro, they released the DS right after it was released, and now not many people have even heard of it (from my experience). That's the same situation people were in when Crystal were released. People with a regular Game Boy or Game Boy Pocket couldn't play Crystal. With new hardware comes new games, and eventually you're gonna have to upgrade if you want to keep playing games. =p

I know, but with all this talk of a DS2 I'm confused if I should either just get a DSi or if I should wait until whenever this new one comes out.
