Okay think about this: You want a Nintendo DS for the first time (you don't want anything else but a ds) so there's two to pick from which do you buy?

DSi $170 Portable+ Not as big-
DSi XL $170 Bigger screens+ not very portable in pockets-

According to Tye, i think the DSi XL has a better battery life, so i'd go with that.
