What do you think about dreamies? are you for it? against it? do you think it's a silly concept? do you think there should be no restrictions to villagers? or do you not care?

Just wondering, during my time on TBT i've seen mixed views on dreamies.

In my opinion, everyone should be able to do as they please without being judged, you can have dreamies, and that's cool. Whenever I make a town, I have dreamies.

I'm not for nor against dreamies, the concept exists and that's it. I personally have a couple of them, but i prefer to keep the number low (4-6) so i can move in and out more villagers and get to know more of them. For me, having a town with 10 fixed villagers can get a bit boring.

I have dreamies for my towns, but I have so many dreamies I have three (going on four) towns. I think people should be able to do whatever they want whether they want dreamies or paths or whatever makes them happy for their town. I personally like the idea of dreamies and decorating because it gives an end goal if you are so inclined. If you one day want to shelf the game and be satisfied with you accomplishments I think having dreamies gives you that bit of accomplishment in a game that has no other real goals other than to catch things, fill the museum and get out of debt. Once you do all those things it can be hard to find motivation to play the game, so finding something else to collect or do kind of makes it more fun for me. I get people who want to experience lots of villagers, and I get that way which is why I have so many towns. To each their own I say.

I don't have dreamies i have wanties 'causse i end up shouting "OOOO I WANT" lol

I have no problem with people having dreamies its kinda like a wishlist of villagers right? Everyone has a wishlist of some sort i don't understand why people would be against it but to each their own.

There are really only two villagers I want: Maple and Tabby. However, unlike a lot of people, I don't go out of my way to find them. I want them to move in on their own or come in through the campsite. If someone offered me their villager for free, I'd decline.

I think that having villagers you like is inevitable. When you start a town there's going to be a villager that you are going to get attached to.

For me, I have villagers that I want to move into my town. I wouldn't go out of my way to get them though, unless someone wanted to just give it to me. They are villagers that I've enjoyed the most and have the closest connection to.

I had villagers in mind that my towns needed to have before I even heard of dreamies, but I call them perma-villagers because that's what they are: permanent. There MAY be one or two I would be willing to part with in Balamb, but if they pinged to move...I don't know if I could actually part with them.

They're like my babies, lol. I've had, in some cases, years to "bond" with them and even if they didn't start out as a dreamie, that's what they became. *cough*Hamphrey*cough*

My dreamies are who i fell in love with just by playing the game offline. Which was Rosie , Fauna , Rodney, Diana and Hamlet.
But i mean all have favorites with everything in life. So dreamies are just a normal thing in my opinion.

i have villagers in my town that came with the disk (mine is preowned) that i love so much and they arent really "dreamies" the only one that is a dreamie to me is Monique...

Dreamies are part of the animal crossing fun~ I think it's totally fiine and it's not silly at all. I have five dreamies I hope to achieve one day as originals if not that is okay too since there's a bunch of new/ previous villagers I haven't had in my town yet. If you have a certain villager you want in mind it makes you want to look forward to it and the game seems more fun and rewarding xD

Dreamies is just a way for people to put a label on villagers they like. Nothing serious.

Before this name..everyone already had villagers they hated and villagers they loved. Not a big deal. Not sure how someone can hate this lmao.

I do agree having the same 10 villagers can get boring, for some, but if they're all ones you like and like aesthetically. Sounds good to me.

I also agree that getting new villagers here and there, and letting a fav or 2 go is great cause the randomized nature of acnl and seeing which villager wants to move in is great.

But man.. Having an ugly, eye sore, villager you just can't stand can make an experience horrible.

^ What Deak said, really.

I've had the same 10 villagers in Noveon forever. I love them all and plan on keeping all of them permanently. When I want to interact with different villagers, well...that's why I have 4 towns.

I have dreamies, because I want my town to be fix, beautiful lol rather than want many others villagers in and out spoiling my landscape. So I fix myself the dreamies I want, but some of them will be gone unexpectedly, so well, I learn to move on for another dreamies so I can stop destroying my own landscape. But I do have one that I will never ever let it go!!

In my opinion, Dreamies allows for good marketing. It's about trading, and getting what you want. Yeah, I believe some villagers are hyped too much because they're a "tier one" or "tier two", but I also believe there is some sentiment to it. Some villagers I just like because the way they sing my town tune is nice. I think it's okay to have preferences and I believe this whole dreamie thing also has good economic properties to it. I'd like meme villagers, they'd be my dreamies uwu.

i ALSO REALLY LOVE HOW SOME OF THEM SING MY TOWN TUNE? BUT MINE IS CRUEL ANGEL'S THESIS AND SO MY NGE FANART SINGS EACH TIME LOL

Since its natural for people to have preferences its natural for them to have preferred villagers. That being said, I think its pretty stupid to get upset with someone for liking the "wrong" villagers.

I think Deak said it best really.

I don't personally have "dreamies" in the way in which dreamies are now labelled (getting them and then never letting them go). But I would be thrilled to get certain villagers in my town and I have been devastated when favourite villagers have moved out. One of the great things about the game is that there's over 300 villagers - so everyone can have a different set of villagers.
