Anyone have DAs for towns with lots of lakes? My main town has five lakes and a ton of rocks, I don't want to reset and I'm having a hard time finding creative ways to work around them. I'd like to see how other people have managed this.. I know most people reset for a perfect map so it's not so easy to find towns that have more than 1-2 lakes to begin with.

Anyone?

I thought maps can only have a maximum of 2 ponds/lakes? On topic, I did plan on making a water themed town with duck and frog villagers, maybe one or two alligator/hippo and name the town Lilypad/Lilypond.

Oh that sounds cute! But no, my main has five lakes. I wish I'd known what a pain that would turn out to be when I picked it.

I would check to see what the layout of the rocks are. You might be surprised. For instance, I recently discovered that I have three rocks that are perfectly aligned. They form 3 corners of a square/rectangle {too lazy to do exact measurements :p}. I have more rocks, but they aren't aligned with each other.

Another option, again focusing on the rocks, is to use them as focal points/land marks. Let's say you have 5 rocks. You could use them to create 5 different areas. They wouldn't have to all be grand spectacles. If there isn't a lot of room around one rock, maybe that area would just contain a little sitting area.

If you have 5 lakes {and 5 rocks, which would be cool!}, you could make your town into an Around the World adventure. Each lake would represent a different ocean {i.e., Pacific, Atlantic, Arctic, Indian, Southern} from around the world.

If I come across any {good} DA's with a similar situation, I'll let you know, though.

I have three ponds/lakes in my main town Kibble if you want to visit, address in sig :3.

Here's the map! (ignore sloppy house placement, they're all getting gone soon)

I realized while I was capping this that some people might have thought I meant lakes as in large pools in the riverbend when I actually should have been saying ponds. But there's definitely five ponds.

Thanks to everyone who had suggestions, and Fancy I'll check out your town!

I actually really like your map :), if it were my town I'd have a water spa type town with the water (hot springs etc) and Japanese zen PWP's, bamboo houses and bamboo plants everywhere, stone paths etc.

Thanks ^^, hope you enjoy your time there :).

For one of my ponds, I found a bridge/dock path and I made like a little fishing dock and put a rod next to it. c:

That is adorable, oh my goodness.

Fancy: That's a really good idea, actually. I've been trying to think of ways to work around all the water, but just letting it take over the town could work out to be really pretty too!

I love all those ideas! I've not seen those concepts yet in my dream traveling, but I totally want to now.

With all the ponds and rocks, a more natural set-up, rather than very linear and square paths, would work well. Use the plants like flowers, bushes, trees, and bamboo to emphasize the natural paths that will develop as you walk around town. Natural dirt paths would work great rather than using patterns! Even villager house placement can be random, to further emphasize the rustic layout.

I look forward to seeing your town when you have it set up to how you like it!

If you wanted you could also do what quite a few people have done (myself included) and use an axe to cut the full grown bamboo, you end up with a nice fence if you planted them in a row :).

If you decided to use QR paths I've seen some great ones that would fit like

And there's others like bamboo mats and water :3. Natural paths lined with bushes and flowers would work as well though :).

I'm keeping a close eye on this thread. My town has five or six little pond bits in it as well and I have no idea what to do with any of them besides curse at them for getting in the way of other projects I have planned (lol) so I'd really like to actually pay attention to them and treat them as features in my town rather than nuisances!

Someone else cursed with ponds! There's been a lot of really great and helpful suggestions in this thread, though. Now that I look at it, I can definitely make my town work way better with natural paths and landscaping than with a strict, linear pattern.

I have 5 ponds and I really like them <3 My DA is in my sig if you would like to check it out ^.^

Weird coincidence but I was just visiting random dream towns and I was sent to a town called H?nfeld, address: 7200-4140-5567. I think It's a wip but it's pretty decent, three ponds and natural designs with bamboo everywhere :), looks like random house plots. Just thought you might be interested op ^^.

I have a map with 3 ponds. And at the town hall, I hate the rocks sitting there. I also don't like my river layout. Every time I look at it I just want to restart. But with so little space for this layout I have I actually made it pretty good, you can check it out and see if its nice or not.

Dream address in my signature.

My friend has three ponds in her town but she only just started out. She has a very similar one to you where she has a pond right below her station which extremely annoys her aha. Best of luck coming up with ideas, I think Fancy's idea of a hot spring/zen town sounds lovely!

My DA has a lot of lakes. It's in the sig. I think I have 4 or 5. My town is also pretty decorated.
