For those of you who are still in school...what do you want to be when you get older? I thought this would be interesting to post, as I'd like to share my own stories with you guys.
Animal training: This will most likely be my job when I get older. I recently discovered animal training about a year or two ago, and since then, my sisters and I have been training our guinea pig utilizing Positive Reinforcement and Clicker Training, two positive training methods that work very well with any animal. I always feel I can truly be myself around animals; so many people misunderstand them and call them "stubborn" or "untrainable" and end up rehoming them (I know what it's like. My parents did this with one of our dogs that we used to have.) or even abusing them. With these methods, we could give the world a whole new perspective of our little companions. I'm hoping that within the next few years or so some more animal training businesses will open up that I can begin working for.
As the "great Chowder" once said..."Never forget the animals!" XD
As for animating, that will most likely be more of a side hobby. I still remember in the fifth grade when our art teacher let everyone use the tablets that he had, a few people each day, and on the very last day of school, I got my turn. It was a bit hard at first, but it was so amazing, I didn't want to leave when class was over!! (Yes, it was mandatory to take art in elementary school. The reasons why I didn't take art classes in middle school was because I hated not being able to draw what I wanted, and if I missed a day, I had no clue what to do.) I've been planning on buying some animating equipment when I can afford it and posting some of my work online once I get used to the feel of using a tablet again (I've only touched one since my fifth grade experience-in sixth grade, and I ended up embarrassing myself in front of my whole class since I wasn't used to it XD-the screen was projected onto the white board though, so it was different than a computer), but as for now, I'm just stuck to good old notebooks, MS Paint, and Pixlr for any pieces of art. My sisters and I have been dreaming of animating for as long as I can remember; drawing is a passion of mine that I can just run to and express myself through the paper no matter how I'm feeling, and it'll be one of those things to just cheer me up when I need a break from animal training.
My inspirations for animal training and animating are in my Signature. As I stated...if you have not heard of them, look them up!! They both inspired me to continue chasing the paths I wish to follow. I have no idea where I would be today if I didn't know them.
And, who knows? Maybe one day I'll be working alongside them!
So, what are your dream jobs? Have you planned ahead on it yet? I'd appreciate any feedback! (And I'd love to thank everyone who will read this long post! It took about an hour to write!)
