Down to 9 villagers yet still no random move-ins?

After my last villager moved out i'm down to 9 villagers. I usually find that within maybe 3 or 4 days of this happening, i'll find a roped-off plot of land appear somewhere in my town, ready for some random villager to move into. However, this time it's been more than a week and NOTHING has happened. What the heck is going on?! Should i still be expecting a random move-in to occur sometime soon at this point? I haven't invited anyone else to move into town so i know it's not that

Iirc at 9 villagers, the only ones that would move in would be either the one you specially invited from another town, or (unwelcomed) ones from other ppl's voids via streetpass/wifi/online trading or visitors or visiting other towns that have someone in their voids. Best to decide on who you'd like for that 10th spot, and try to quickly adopt them from others. In the meantime you might wanna put your town in lockdown mode until you secured your preferred villager and their house plotted.

To my knowledge, no random move-ins can happen at 9 villagers unless you possibly get one from the void, or if you invited a villager from the campsite or another town.

i believe you cant get any random move ins at 9, its just 8. at 9 , u can only get them from your campsite or adopting from other towns

10th villagers don't randomly move in. They have to be invited in or obtained after you streetpass someone or use Wi-Fi.
