Was scrolling through my Instagram feed when I saw this:

FullSizeRender.jpg

I didn't even need to read the description to know that these were Goliath beetles! I love it when video games teach you something for real life! Haha

Has something like this ever happened to you with AC:NL? Or any other video game for that matter?

Animal Crossing taught me what an arowana was and I suddenly felt kinda smart

I recently saw some fish and bug related pixel art on deviantART, and I was able to recognize one of the fish as an oarfish! I never wouldn't known that if it wasn't for ACNL. :)

Animal Crossing taught me about many different types of fish. Like the football fish and the zebra turkey fish. Now every time I see a picture of some strange looking fish on the internet, I feel a burst of satisfaction when I'm actually able to identify it lol.

yeah I love it when I go outside and see snails and am just like "Woah, AC"

Haha ;) made me laugh :D
Seriously though, it taught me an awful lot of fish. I knew most of the bugs as I was always into reading books about them as a kid (nerd). I love going in the museum and reading the little bits of information about each fish/bug :)

All the time I'll just recognize animals (bugs and fish) that I would've never known existed if it wasn't for our good ol' friends at Nintendo making Animal Crossing.

Identifying animals and bugs makes me feel smarter haha
Sometimes I see stag beetles online and such and I'm like "hey! I know you!"

Animal crossing has actually taught me all kinds of interesting tidbits of information on fish and insects. I love it.

Same as everyone, learned a lot about bugs and fish. Love reading about the art in the museum too. :>

I consider myself pretty well informed when it comes to other countries! But Guillver has taught me so many other random things. For ex: I never knew The Netherland' s national flower was the Tulip! :D

Yep - when I was at a butterfly garden in Indonesia, they had a room filled with all kinds of bugs. I knew quite a lot c:
This also happens when I visit an aquarium!

I am actually Dutch - and we're known for the tulip, indeed. However, the tulip isn't even originally Dutch! No, it's Turkish! We stole it lol c:
