Doll Collecting

We need a thread to talk about doll collecting because I have no one in the real world to talk with. We can also include doll care, mods and anything else in this thread.

I am new to the collecting world (always loved dolls/toys/stuffed animals but just recently wanted to start actually collecting. It basically started when I went to Toys R Us to buy myself a Furby (because I'm awesome) And I came across the "Novi Star" dolls and they just struck me beautiful and I couldn't get it out of my head so I went back later to buy "Una Verse" of the Novi Star's. I realized she had no joints or much posing options so I was determined to get a BJD (Ball jointed doll) and stumbled on "Monster High." Then I started watching the webisodes and movies and now I'm a Monster High freak! My newest addition have been 2 "Ever After High" dolls.

So far my collection consists of:
Novi Stars - Una Verse
Monster High - Picture Day Spectra Vondergeist, Ghouls Night out Lagoona+Rochelle, Scaris Catrine Demew+Jinafire Long, and 13 Wishes Gigi Grant.
Ever After High: Apple White + Briar Beauty.

I am looking to get my hands on an Original Ghoulia Yelps, Spectra Vondergeist and Lagoona Blue in the box. I am also soooo excited for Viperine Gorgon!

Well I don't collect anything now but I know back in the day I used to collect all the beanie babies I could(anyone remember those things??)..I only had like 3 or 4 total though lol, I wanted so much of them! Maybe I'll pick up collecting something else again who knows!

but as a kid magic diapers babies and cherry marry muffin pvc figurines oh and the bonnie doll series

I collect Blythes! I have 4 Pauline (I recently got her at Blythecon in NYC. She's completely custom!), Sunny (Nicky Lad), Frankie (Simply Guava), and Lala (ADG Pinafore Purple). I also collect mini Lalaloopsys

I want to start collecting Dals and Pullips. And I stumbled on some unboxing videos of Monster High dolls so I want to start getting those too!

Hah, this thread seems really cool. I collect Webkinz, Beanie Babies, Pokemon plush, and tons of misc. ones. I have about...400 stuffed animals maybe? Dollwise, I've never collected. 20 Barbies, but I never set out to collect those, it just happened. 1 Bratz a while ago, and that's about it.

Question.

Do you keep your dolls in box or take them out??

So far I have been taking my dolls out of the box because I like to pose them and fix their hair and change their clothes. I am normally the first to TEAR open the box. With my recently bought "Apple White" I am having a hard time taking her out of the box for some strange reason.....

I always take them out, but that's just me. They're valued more when still in boxes, but I can never be satisfied by simply staring at everything.

I haven't seen the Mommy and Gracie show, I'll have to check that out!

And I always take them out of their boxes. I do save and open the boxes carefully, but I have no intentions of ever selling my dolls. I enjoy them by changing their clothes and photographing them so their value doesn't matter to me.

Disney Limited Edition Elsa doll is out tomorrow! I have to rush after work and try to get one! Anyone else going to get one???!!!! They are $100 and there are only 2500 world wide so I am FREAKING OUT that I won't be there in time to get one!

So I have my Duffy and Shellie May the Disney bears. Duffy came from Florida (Disney World) and Shellie May was ordered from Japan (Tokyo Disney Sea). They are so special and I love them c:

I used to collect Sylvanian families (Calico critters) but I stopped a while ago.
I only just stopped collecting build a bears but I have 21.

I just have endless plush, and will never stop collecting <3

I've never really been a doll collector though :3

Google Duffy and Shellie May as I don't think many have heard of them.

They are ADORABLE! I used to have TONS of plush but donated them once I got older. I do wish I kept some, especially the Beanie Babies, I had a bunch of them!
