@Omfa:
my boyfriend was the one that actually got me into playing ACNL so i can assure you that not all women find men that play casual games unattractive. i play games too (obviously) though not as much as he had but that allows leeway for both us to sympathize with each other. for me, he can play anything he wants as long as he isn't an unpleasant gamer (toxic). a guy that plays game is a very easy way for me to tell how he actually is such: does he get frustrated easily, is he willing to put down the game when it matters, how does he treat other players, etc etc. tbh, i appreciate a guy that would rather cuddle and play a casual game with me than head out to a club on a friday night. you might feel like a nerd playing a game in public but it isnt a stretch to say that some girls will find that attractive. but it mostly depends on the personality you have as a gamer. girls might find being a gamer attractive but if youre going to be misogynistic and offensive then noooope.

@kerryelizabeth:
wow!! thats one of my most frequented subs. how very neat.

Gamefaqs is more "male populated" because the minute they find out someone is female, all hell breaks loose.
But female here.

Yep. That's why I have a gender neutral username for GameFAQs (it sounds more masculine than this one). I'm female.

Here in Tokyo, there's waaaaay more female characters that I StreetPass than male characters. It doesn't mean anything, because a guy could easily be playing a female character. But I do have the feeling it is more ladies playing it than guys.

Welp. I don't really like anyone in my life knowing I play Animal Crossing, whether I'm male, female, or bacon. I never talk about games in public unless they mention it first, and only if they talk about cutesy or casual games do I spill beans of any sort. I'm kind of embarrassed by my taste (and lack of skill) in gaming, considering my tomboyish nature. And I'd certainly never purposely give anyone the idea that I can spend my whole day on an Animal Crossing forum creating pixels with pixels and helping people with other pixels to pixel their pixels and trade their pixels too. (Now you understand the first part of my username? XD)

Girls tend towards simulator games in general. Maybe its how we're brought up, maybe we have a greater desire to care for something and follow it through naturally. Who knows?

I was brought up on things like Warhammer 40k, Half Life, Diablo, Metroid, etc. I'm pretty big into psychological horror games and fantasy RPG/adventure games, so I can't speak for the girls who just play these sorts of games.
