So I know there's a way you can force villagers to ping by chilling in the water at the beach for a few minutes.

I'm trying to get Skye out, and she's being really stubborn.

If I use this trick and then get her to ping, save before talking to her, and then keep answering the ping over and over, will she eventually ask to move? I'm getting sick of TTing, and I just wanna be able to play the game normally again instead of running around talking to whoever's in their house or wandering around and then TTing to the next day.

She's my main char's best friend, because when the trade was organized, we were already pretty good friends and I thought being a best friend might make her ask to leave. Nope. My alt char has only greeted her, but I've had him for a while and she still hasn't tried to leave due to being ignored.

I'm reluctant to bully her, as I don't really want to go, "Here's my abused villager, now gimme mah stuff :D" and would rather just have a nice and friendly trade. XD

So, if I get her to ping a few times, is there a chance she'll want to move from one of the pings?

yes, that's how i got some of my villagers to leave in the past : )

Oh, cool! Now I just need a wetsuit. XD

SKYE, YOU SHALL LEAVE, AS I HAVE GATHERED TRICKS FROM ALL SORTS OF PEOPLE!

Hold on can I try to understand more? I have a very stubborn one too, just because I didn't welcome him when he got in, he just won't move same as you, I TT ignore, created an alt char nothing works, the lil brat just keeps walking past me looking me in the eye thinking "what you gonna do?"

So I go in the water, go look for her I see her ping and then what? i save ans continue, or save and quit? how do you answer the ping over and over I don't picture it...
Thank you for your help !!

If you want a villager to move, you have to greet them, or else the game won't move them; assumingly because it wants you to at least recognize them.

Greet the villager, then go swimming in the beach for about 5 mins. Some people say you need to catch something and some say you need to get stung by a jellyfish, but really, you just need to get out of sight for a few mins.

Then, get out of the water and start walking around near the villager you're trying to ping. As soon as they do, save and continue, and then answer it. If they ask to move, then let them leave. If they mention a PWP or try to buy/sell you something, power-off and get back on to make them ping again.

A good idea is to stuff your inventory with stuff like flowers and stuff that they won't buy, and don't bring any bells with you. Not having any inventory space as well as bells will prevent them from trying to sell you stuff, and they won't buy things like flowers and seashells. Thus, the only options are PWPs or moving requests. (Maybe a few other random things that I can't remember.)

Actually, Skye just moved out without using the ping-force trick.

When I get confirmation that AquaDirt is ready to get Walker, I'll try this- but that might be a while.

Ack, she didn't move out, she began to think about it. XD

I'm sorry I still don't understand how this works. You make them ping, save and continue. If they do not request the thing you want, you quit. Ok, but when you start the game again, you start at your house. Do you just find that villager again and they'll ping the moment they see you? or what?

They should? I didn't try it? :-P

OMG I'm gonna try this for Pwps! Thanks! xD

He said 'Save and Continue' not 'Save and Quit' :) Much like when you quick save on other games so you're covered if things go the wrong way.

This forced-ping trick does work for trying to get new PWPs, but I'm skeptical that it works for trying to get specific villagers to move. I've noticed that planned moves don't seem to be solely triggered by pings. Sometimes you can find out that a villager is planning to move by talking to a different villager. ("I heard so-and-so is planning on moving. Why don't you go talk to them, [name]?") Also, I TTed a lot on my extra copy of the game, and sometimes neighbors would randomly move out, and they definitely didn't inform me with a ping first. So if neighbors moving out are determined the moment of the ping, which is what's needed for this trick to work, then how would you explain these things?

Edit: Oh, and I thought I'd add that I use the wet suit trick to get PWPs daily, and I've never seen the "I'm planning to move out soon" dialogue generated while doing it. They ask for greetings, catchphrases, request PWPs, ask to go to my house, ask me to go to their house, say the most random stuff (like asking if I would rather have a super-pink shovel or a super-genius shovel), but they never tell me they're moving no matter how many times I get them to ping.

I was browsing tumblr yesterday and came across a "guide to moving out villagers". I can't vouch for its accuracy (I haven't read it yet, it's a little long), but apparently this person has had a lot of success. From glancing at it, it looks like involves TTing though.
