Ok, I never dash in my town, yet the grass is receding BIG time. Around the bridges, around the character's houses, and around all PWPs. I noticed it was so bad last weekend it put me off playing. So I played for about 10 mins max each day this week. Just enough time to check the shops, speak to a few villagers and water flowers in the worst spots where the grass is completely gone.

I still can't see a difference. In fact, the grass hasn't grown back from the patch where there was a villager's house over a month ago.

I'm beginning to think the damage is permanent and the re-growth is a myth. It's completely put me off the game. I spent hours reading everything I could find about it online but it's either contradictory or doesn't seem to be true at all.

What is your experience?

Grass recedes where you walk frequently. Running only makes it recede faster. Grass DOES grow back little by little each day. Takes about two or so weeks for it to fully regrow.

Concur with Khaelis, the grass does grow back, but it's very slow. Luckily it seems like it grows back even on days you don't play, so that's a plus.

The grass will come back, but it`s very slow, also you should avoid to step on the tiles where you want to regrow it. I don`t like the gras wear, there should be an easier way to grow it back too.

Watering flowers on receded grass and planting trees on receded grass increases the rate that the grass will grow back.

There are some patches where it cannot re grow, but if you really hate it, cover everything with designs because they can protect your grass much, much better because there is no wear whenever you step on a design tile. I've had paths since release that I've walked on thousands of times likely, and yet the grass is still in perfect condition.

It eventually does grow back. It just takes a long time for it to grow. I've put flowers on a spot where the grass was gone and after a while it eventually grew back

It regrows back, but it will eventually recede again, unless you stop walking in the game.

designs don't protect the tiles

This has been said 1000 times over and over again and every time you guys are wrong. Designs don't protect grass. They just cover it up.

If those naked areas bug you so much, can't you cover it with a PWP?

That is a false actually; my grass has worn completely underneath all of my designs in my town (I also have 1-5 visitors as well each day). Grass wear mechanics have not changed since its introduction in City Folk except for the speed of wear (it takes longer for grass to wear and grows a little faster than it takes to wear compared to City Folk) and that grass regrows even when you don't play. I honestly don't get how you don't have any wear at all. Do you not run in your town or Time Travel? :/

I have some paths but my town is mostly stepping stones and clovers. Clovers on brown ground don't look as good. Yet in dream towns the whole grass is often very green apart from some isolated spots. Even towns that are really crowded with trees and bushes leaving no choice but to always walk over the same route.

There are some spots in your town where grass will never grow back and that's normal. There's usually no grass around PWPs, villagers houses and character houses too.
I don't know if it's just me, but when it's Winter and the snow has settled onto the ground, then when it turns to Spring and the snow is gone, some of the grass grew back. Probably just me, considering that I don't really play ACNL when it's winter in-game

The grass does grow back, but i'm pretty sure there are spots in your town which have permanently little grass in an area :P

The grass/snow in winter grows back faster, so that all players are able to build snowmen, it`s normal.

that is a myth..path designs do not protect your grass from wear c:

I am currently taking a break because of grass erosion. I'm on week one and plan on returning in another week. I figure two weeks should bring my grass back. I play so much that my town gets so much erosion and it really bothers me. I know that some people like erosion for natural paths, but I wish that the beautiful town ordinance kept it green. Or at least not have any when you walk on it.

I guess all you can do at this point, is to assign certain parts of town to be your paths, that way if they wear down, it'll only be on the path and not all over your town.

Since there are certain spots where the grass never grows back, maybe those could be where the paths are?

Yes, it grows back but its slow. I get inpatient so I use the tting forward a month then coming back trick to make the grass grow back. Works like a charm each time. (much less painful the city folk where you had to actually go day by day to get your grass back. Lame!).

If you decide to do it, please be careful and look up a guide somewhere. If you dont take precautions, you will lose a dreamie in the process.
