Will he leave at some point? I dont want him too I've never even seen him yet! The reason I ask is because I'm really close to resetting.. also when is the new update?? It may take me weeks to find an island after I reset
Pascal spawns when you catch a Scallop when you go diving!
If you havent met him yet, its because you havent caught a scallop yet but I have heard that he appears when you catch the 2nd Scallop, so the first one can be donated to the museum.
Someone please correct me if im wrong here but I think he appears once a day, when u catch a scallop
and he gives you something new everytime
I've found scallops and still have never seen him! My gates were open the first couple and then I found one more when gates were closed and he never showed up so that was wierd I thought

Ahh that could be why!
He probably doesnt show up when the gates are open. So then when you found one with gates closed, you probably needed to find one more with gates closed and he will pop up!
My experience with the otter is:
Ive always went diving with the gates closed. I caught one scallop and he didnt appear. So i donated it. Then I went back and found a second one and the second one he appeared!

I'm not sure if time has anything to with it, but he usually shows up only after I've been diving for quite awhile- I'm not sure if that's because of the time it took to find a scallop or if it's related to the amount of time you've spent diving.
Also, it could be different for each player and maybe it has something to do with other visiting encounters like Saharah or Gulliver.

I doubt it has anything to do with amount of time spent diving, as I’ve found a scallop seconds after diving in the water and had pascal show up before

I think it is safe to assume if it doesn’t say for a limited time In announcement videos like for Zipper or Rover or Cyrus/Reese that the npc is here to stay.
